Couldn't tell you for sure at this moment, but most guys back then were much more comfortable with their sexuality. Romans and Greeks usually felt that true intimacy could only be had with another man. Women were for breeding, cooking, cleaning, etc. Sex and passion was with guys. Men did not really worry about what others would think, like our society today. Most any sexual proclivity was accepted.

The relationship with Hephaiston is speculation. The idea that Alexander was 'gay' comes from Roman authors writing 400-500 years after Alexander's lifetime. They wrote the same thing about Caesar. While it was true Greeks often had male sexual relationships, it was more reserved for pederasty (sexual relationships with young boys) rather than homosexuality between adult males, which existed, but was more rare.
The Romans coined these stories as propaganda, so there's no way to know for certain either way. It's simply something many historical fiction writers and Hollywood have made more well known, because, sadly, people don't actually read history.

No one knows for sure. What is known is that he was married to a princess and another woman. And that it was exceptable even fasionable for men of his time especialy in Greece and Rome for men to take male lovers. Women were seen as Breeders too be treasured for looks and fertility but not for mental chartieristics. Feelings between men were acceptable because they mental equals and could unerstand the needs of each other.
Alexander may have been gay, bisexual or just following the trends of the time.

Probably bisexual. He had a lifelong affair with Hephaistion, and a little bit on the side with Bagoas.
He also married a Persian princess for dynastic reasons, which reveals nothing in relation to his sexuality. However, he married Roxanne who was a Sogdian woman. There was no dynastic reason for that, so it was probably a love match.

Many men of his time engaged in homosexual behavior. It was considered not only acceptable but very classy to have eunuchs or other male entertainers for sexual purposes, as it meant that you had wealth and power etc.
It was also true that living in a homosexual relationship was viewed much differently than just having casual homosexual sex.
Based on the history we have on him, he had sex with just about anything with two (and even a few thing with 4) legs... so it is hard to say what he was other than a man with a lot of power, who had a lot of sex.

There was alot of bisexuality in during the Roman and Greek periods. They had their wives but were at war so often they engaged in homosexuality as well and didn't see anything wrong with it.

He had sex with males as well as females. So yes, he was gay. Or at least bisexual. In his time though it was more of a norm. I really don't believe it was talked about any in way different than if the man had a female lover.

Yes, he was bisexual. In the eyes of today's conservatives it is the same as being gay.
