I was browsing through the metaphysical section a few years ago at Border and came across a book which I do not remember the name of.... but it had a rather good poem near the front about Wicca and Christianity and about the burnings.... sorry I have no more to go on but I thought it was well written and interesting... any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry, not familiar with it...but as a note, Christians never burnt Wiccans, as Wicca is a 20th century religion. Christians burnt accused witches, which were generally just falsely accused Christians.

Yeah...well..."Wiccans" want to believe they're related to the old pagan religions that were practiced in pre-christian Europe...but they are actually modern day "resurrectionists" who are trying to rekindle something that was pretty much wiped away by history. It is true perhaps that St. Patrick drove the druids out of Irland and burned down their groves, but that's about where the truth ends and fiction begins.

In any event, the Mysts of Avalon might have a reference or two that might lead you in the right direction...if not, it's a good book about the clash between the ancient pagan religion and christianity anyway.
