Do you agree that change occurs when "one becomes what he is, not when he tries to become what he is not"?
How do you define change?

"A Poison Tree" by William Blake

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe;
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I water'd it in fears,
Night & morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with my smiles
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright;
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veil'd the pole:
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretch'd beneath the tree

what exactly does he mean by "till it bore an apple bright / and my foe beheld it shine" (please translate)
also, what does "And into my garden stole
When the night had veil'd the pole" mean?

i also need help analyzing and interpreting the theme...
what is the poem saying about humanity? what does the poet want you to take away from the poem?

i do get the basic idea of the poem and i really like it.

thank you!

Why we always see how wrong the others are and we never see ourselves?
Why we always expect people to be like us?
we judge them according to our principles; they usually don't match..

I recently went for an audition, and the the casting director was so rude, he didn't bother asking my name, he saw the colour of my skin and asked where I came from...when race, as a presenter? plays no role whatsoever. and then he ushered me out the door claiming he wasn't doing screen tests that day when I had already seen other people infront of a camera. he didn't say goodbye and didnt shake my hand and absolutely no thankyou whatsoever. he's now just emailed to tell me i havnt got the part...stating the obvious...should i reply and tell him how rude he's been?

I was taking down old lathe and plaster in our house and found this in the wall among other things. It is printed on very old fabric. The fabric looks like it may have covered a canning jar at one time the way it is made. I am trying to find out what the emblem is or means. Our house was built in 1865 so it may be something from a long time ago. Does anyone know what it is?
I posted pictures of it at:
