We're used to being ourselves so much that when we see someone that is totally not us, we begin to think, "My gosh, they look like a weirdo. They don't belong here."
I'm not saying that it's our nature to alienate people. It's just a matter of who actually wants to fit in...For example, if everyone else around you is different than yourself, then you might find that you could be the different one and you feel like the alien, therefore changing yourself to become one of them. Vice versa to the person who just seems different. You would want them to fit in, so that maybe you won't give them pity or whatever. Some of us pressure people into being clones of ourselves, which is sad, because they may never see a person for who they really are.

Looking at, and seeing ones self is a trait that is is few and far between with mankind. This is why meditation came about. Indians, Buddhists, etc all wished to further understand men, planet, events around them more fully, therefore must look to their insides first. Understanding yourself makes a big difference.
Also seeing when you're wrong and admitting so is a giant step in evolving the spirit.

It is the only way we know how to look at the world so it is the only way we can think others look at the world even though we know it is wrong. It is all we have. Most people want to think the best of them selves. Have to stay optimistic or we’d all be a more then a little looney.

We have forgotten or never learned to empathize. We have been programmed for the last forty or so years to do our own thing. The standard we once lived at has been lowered so many times it has almost ceased to exist.

Those humans who behave like that do not know that it is WISER to see the good in people and praise them... They dont understand that it is not very wise to see the bad in people and scorn them...
People dont know that a POSITIVE perspective is better...
People have to be taught this in order for them to understand it deeply, so deeply that their perspective and, hence, their behavior, thoughts, feelings, and realities, will change too..

Not everybody acts as you say. Anyone who trains their mind and themselves to act rationally will not act as you suggest. A little more Philosophy would go a long way.
