“Huntington’s ‘clash of civilizations thesis’ predicts a gloomy and conflict-ridden future for the world. It also claims that the past shows that there has primarily been conflict between ‘the West’ and ‘the Rest’. On the other hand, historians such as Fernand Braudel have shown that there has been a history of ‘mutual borrowings’ across civilizations and cultures."

Outline these two views of the long-term history of interaction between ‘the West’ and ‘the Rest’ and say which you find most convincing in its analysis of the past. Give reasons for your answer.

What are some good jobs to have that will still pay well, but allow flexibility to go on auditions and classes for someone trying to get into acting? Of course you always hear of being a waiter/waitress or bartender, but curious about any other options.

I recently criticized abeuaty pageant winner who wanted people to write in, asking her how to win back people's trust after a reputation had been damaged...or, some such superficial as that. When It old her she was, herself ,superificial, pastic and had at least two brain cells in addition to telling her to start by getting a life, I was told by yahoo questions that I was in violation of the yahoo contract.
I do admit, telling some moron who won the beauty pageant that it didn't take talent to win, just a fake smile and a body (I guess) wasn't not appropriate. So, I do apologize for the no talent comment, but definitely I abide by the two brain celled statement.

We may ask Why? consistently, but to fully understand any conception or basic thought, we must all ask each and every question. My own question is... to what ends will these same questions lead us?

I have just read complete and uncut version of 'the stand' and found the ending a little disappointing. It feels like you go on a journey and then... It's over. I thought the end was over too quick and i felt a little cheated. Has anyone read it and felt the same way? I loved the book and couldn't put it down so this was a litte putting off.

His name was Sidney Spencer and he served on the HMS Dunedin WW2 on which his was listed as MIA when she went down.
His parental family are all from Yorkshire but his wife and daughter lived (daughter still does) in Portsmouth. There are no documents relating to Sidney or photographs as everything was destroyed in the bombings.
Any information on him or his parental family is eagerly desired.
