Tess Gerritson is brilliant. Suitably bloodthirsty and with good twists. Another is Kathy Reich (who I think is much better than Patricia Cornwell). Gerritson is a qualified doctor who now writes full time and Reich is a forensic anthropologist so you get the real deal.

well i love Patricia Cornwell too but you need to try Tess Gerittsen or a writer called Karin Slaughter she is fantastic or u could try Kathy Reichs all good medical thriller/ mystery writers

Agree, Kathy Reichs much better than Patricia Cornwell - but you might also like Carol O'Connell - Mallory's Oracle, and many others - they're excellent.

Leonard Goldberg has a book called Fatal Care that is really good.
Also Jonathan Kellerman writes excellent Alex Delaware novels, but they are more psychology mysteries. They are very good.
