okay, so I wrote a novel. I need to know if ever I'm going to publish it, do I have to pay the publisher? If yes then how much will it cost for publishing a book? Also, are there publishers where you can just do it for free? I just need to know some information on how to get my book out to the readers!

The effect I want to achieve is a sharp, centered subject(portrait) with blurred edges. Instead of buying filters, I would like to do this with aperture and shutter speed settings. I want to experiment with different settings, both inside and outdoors with or without a flash. Will be using 800 speed film in a Nikon F-5 and speedlight. Any info will be appreciated, thank you.

I wrote a book and I have finally gotten it into it's final draft but I have no idea what to include in the cover letter I send with the manuscript! I've tried looking in books but, let's face it, I have no idea what they're saying. What should I include in the letter? How long should it be? Formal or Friendly?

Serious answers only please...that's why I've put this question in the Philosophy section. You folks are thoughtful, here. I have had one such experience and it's "purpose" I believe, was to open my mind to the possibilty of the body having a consciousness that "lives" outside of the body.Otherwise, I'm of a very skeptical nature and prob would not have "opened" my mind to the other side.
