So, on the way back home today, on the subway, I had nothing else better to do, and so I made up this joke...

There was this enveleope, once, see. It was a medium sized envelope... Well, no it was a little small. Not really small, but just kind of... well, small-ish. And it was a light brown color. Not really brown, actually, more yellow than brown. Sort of yellow-ish, you could say. And it had a long address written on it. Maybe four or five lines long. Not exceedingly long, but, that's right...long-ish.

So the envelope turns to the other envelope at a party and says: "Call me -Ish- Mail."

Funny, or should I just read the newspaper on the subway?

Atheists, if you can believe that there is no God and that the World, with all it infinite beauty and sciences just happened...then my friends YOU HAVE MORE FAITH THEN US CHRISTIANS...
I propose the following to you, if you take a wrist watch with all its intricacies and you take out all the parts, needles screws etc. Then you go to the highest point you can imagine-like take a plane or even a spacecraft and from this point drop all the parts of the watch-would you believe that the watch could come together and be totally functional as if you had not taken it apart.

I don't think many is not anyone would say yes! So how can you say the word just came about???? Surely logic says there is a God.

For all the philosophers out there.See Pascal's Wager!! The great philosopher himself concluded that it makes logical sense to believe in God.

I am doing a report in art history on use of Absinthe in impressionism and 18th century parisian cafe culture. Basically, i am supposed to pretend i am a gallery currator, trying to arrange a show. i need to shoot for at least eight pieces by artists/absinthe drinkers....the catch is, i am really only looking for pictures with absinthe, absinthe drinkers, and absinthe symbolism...so far i have lined up
Van Gough-"Still Life with Absinthe"
Degas -"The Absinthe Drinker" (L'absinthe)
Edouard Manet-"The Absinthe Drinker"
Toulouse-Lautrec- "portait of Vincent Van Gogh"

can you think of anything else??

I'm trying to remember a book I read a long time ago, I remember it's in a series.

There's a boy who can travel to different worlds through a warp zone location located in a subway train station on Earth. There are dogs guarding it on Earth as I think I recall it. One of the worlds he travels to has no land, it's all underwater, the people there live in houses they make on giant platforms miles long. The people breathe under water with special goldfish bowl type helmets with little harmonica looking filters. The boy discovers different fruit in that world and finds that the people farm under water.

I canno't recall the name and I've tried searching for it. Can anyone recall this book and/or series?

I was opening a fresh jar of strawberry jam this morning and I thought - ''My God, how would my grandmother open this?'' It's the same with a lot of household goods, they are just so very difficult to open. How do the packing companies reconcile themselves with making life so difficult for old or sick or weak people. There are other ways of packing things to keep them fresh, and also to enable people to reuse the containers after the product has been consumed. Isn't it time something was done about this?

I have been writing poetry for a short period of time now. I have a lot of poems and I'm still coming up with new things. I was wondering how do I go about getting my poems published into a book? What kind of company should I turn to (name of companies are great), how much would it cost (because I really don't have any money), just what to do. If someone could give me step by step instrutions or advice that would be great. Thanks
