Hi Suzann,
According to a friend of mine, who has been blind all of his life, the answer is : "NO", due to him never having a reference to colors.... Example : while in school, he was described what a "cloud" is.. and looked like and color etc.... and then given cotton to feel.... To him "cotton" is a "cloud" and is "white", but he cannot "SEE" the color... just feel it.... Red is described as hot.. and he associates that with something hot, blue is cool etc...

Those who are congenitally blind, often have dreams that include more instances of "sounds" or "auditory dreams"...

Thanks, for the question! :)

My regards!

Take care!

I think it is not a weird Q; but a natural one, for those who are not blind. Color is purely materialistic conception and is cognizable solely by physical and sense organs, in this case eyes, etc. But ultimately, perception is by mind, referring to a data base available to it through previous observations. There are quite a few humans who believe in re-birth, different from the re-incarnation concept of Biblical nature. In this re-birth it is said that soul takes some physical/material issues to the next birth. In that case there is a faint possibility that though eyes can not see, mind or soul may perceive. I am sure the possibility is very thin. On the other hand, it is quite likely that a born blind may have his/her own concept of colour, grasped thru some other sense organ, like touch.

Certainly they could not see colours , we humans can see colors coz' we have colour pigments in our eyes , and even animals lack them ,and if u say a person is blind from birth the only colour they know is "black" , quite sad.

My daughter is blind. She says that her mind is a tranquil place. That's where she goes to relax and if she has touched something that is where the mental picture will form. I hope this answer is not to difficult.

Lets break it down....

Dream is a subconscious state of mind. If someone has never ever seen colour and has no idea what red, green, blue, yellow means, how can s/he have a slightest idea of colour even if they see it in their dreams? There will be no interpretation for it. If there is no interpretation, then it simply doesn't exist for them.

There may be ghosts around us but if we can't perceive them, they simply don't exist for us.

probobly, because blind people can listen, touch, and imagine so they can probobly imagine a color somewhat like that. and if they are blind they see that everything is black and that is a color so they would have things to base it on.
