Have any of you started your careers from scratch? By this, I mean did you get to where you are without doing a photography course and working for a photographer in the beginning and spending thousands of dollars on equipment?

For some reason, comics to me reflect reality more closely than most other instantly-consumable media, like sitcoms or even the news. I just see pieces of my own world in them, as if that could really happen to my life setting, or people could say and feel what these characters are expressing.

Why should it ever matter if you find the most beautiful creature on Gods green earth?, If you really loved him or her, then you'd make the right decision to let them have a better life than what you could provide. If you sincerely loved someone, then you'd sacrifice your happiness for their's. Where does pure love ever turn out groovy for good?

REMEBER THIS IS THE PHILOSOPHY SECTION, so answers relying solely on science (i.e. the falling creates vibrations in the air) will not be accepted.

Please explain your answers if possible.

I thankyou in advance.

and why?
I am talking about before the Germanic tribes came. I think maybe they were called "Britons", Iam not really sure, but I know the people in Scotland and Ireland are the ones I am refering too. When , why and how did they first come to the islands of the UK?

***trying to clear an earlier question up, where I refered to "them" as "Celts."

Not to be critical, but I am seeing a lot of quesitons concerning those who apparently want advice (and it's always incorrectly spelled "advise" when they use it in a sentence) about publishing a book, or getting an agent. I notice that the words in these questions are frequently misspelled, the grammar is atrocious, and sometimes the question is not even comprehensible in the least. Also, sometimes they say they have had three or four books published and are looking to publish another one. Where in the world are these people (some of whom cannot even seem to write a comprehensible question) going to get these books published and who would publish them? Certainly not an actual book publisher whose books you would find at Barnes and Noble or Borders. I did click on a link with one of them, and it took me to a site where this person's book appeared. It was literally awful, with spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, and more. Nothing made sense. What's going on here?

Why was it that the Roman Empire became Christian, then the standard of living fell during middle ages, then the Renaissance, scientific revolution, industrial revolution, and now the modern era? I don't understand why ancient people were so smart but they couldn't even figure out scientific stuff like we do today?

Sorry I want to keep this clean, and I am trying not to be dirty. But like I watched the secret and it works really well and I have been applying it to every day life. But does it work for people who have sexual fantasies? I mean the sexy fantasies are thoughts and can be transmitted to the universe. We do picture ourselves and our feelings with that person, when we are being intimate. So can it really work in this case?

I also would like to know where I can find data on how many books MIchel Foucault sold in France after he published Discipline and Punish and what the french people thought of his work. I would like to know the same thing, but for the U.S. I have been looking for this information for a few days and asked quite a few librarians. Hopefully someone knows something about this out there. I would really appreciate your help. and Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I need some information on ancient Egypt for a fictional personal recount that I'm writing for school, and please don't suggest wikipedia because I need more than what they have there.

Like, did they have slaves?
What kind of names did they have? Like Cleopatra or Xara or something like that?
What is the olden name of the city Cairo?
Can you name another city near Cairo that is also along the Nile River? And how far is it- like how many days' journey on foot and horseback?
Is the time Queen Cleopatra was in reign called the Cleo Dynasty or else what is it?
Did Queen Cleopatra entertain envoys from other countries, especially European countries? If so, which countries specifically?
What are female Egyptian slaves in Egypt to do?

I have about 5 days to get this short story done, although I did ask for an extension. Please help! And serious answers, please.

what caused the beginning of the universe?

What is our purpose on earth? What was nature thinking if all that happens is, we live then die and nothing else? How does that benefit nature, it has no purpose.

We are the only intelligent beings in the universe, (that we know of). Is it just by luck? No other creature even comes close.

It is obvious that there is only one true religion but how do you decide which one is correct? It is impossible. If you are born with agnostic parents you will probably be agnostic, born with buddhist parents you will be buddhist. So its basically like a lottery.

I was surfing and found that post. What do you think? Would you have the balls to claim to be divine?

If not, why not? The Buddhists do. They claim everyone is.
