Unfortunately the information I have is a bit patchy and he was on the other side - which makes it an unpopular search for many.

He was Austrian by birth, but I believe he went to Germany and held high rank during the war. He also served in WW1.

We know that he was an artist in his youth, but was not successful enough to make a living out of it. It is believed that he was an animal lover - particularly dogs and that although he never actually married, he did have what would be called a "life partner" these days. We don't know what his surname was, because my grandparents changed their name when they moved to England and the original was never known to anyone else.

My great uncle's first name was Adolf. We have a couple of pictures of him in his uniform - in one of them he looks like he is at an award ceremony or something because he is speaking at a lectern with a lot of people around listening to him. He had a distinctive moustache - a bit like Charlie Chaplin's...

Thanks to those people who have so far added me as friends and provided much-needed critical analysis, but I'd be grateful if any other apsiring writers could take a look (particularly at the latest entry) and tell me what they think?

Email me or leave a comment- if there's anything I can do for you let me know!

Thanks!

There will always be strife in the Middle-East, its been like that for as long as civilization has been around. But when western politicians meddle in the affairs of of other countries, more often things get far worse than if they never meddled in the first place.

As it is, not just our troops in Iraq, we have two U.S. carrier battle groups there showing the flag, its too easy to tempt fate with the limited capabilities of those who can provoke the Navy into a conflagaration, since the navy has advanced tactical weaponry that can easily escalate a bad situation into something completely ugly & out of control.

It seems like the west is easily doing what the fanatics want them to do. To invoke the jihad.

I'd like to read something by an established authoer who has a penchant for writing (well) about events in confined spaces or claustrophobic environments- a plot that does not leave a single room, for instance.

Is there anyone that really fits the bill?

Please view my 360 page (latest blog entry) ro get a feel for what I am trying to get at (The story 'The Last Stand'). I am looking for criticism or feedback so leave a comment or email me!

Thanks!

What does the phase spatial reference mean?
Taking the nation-state as our point of spatial reference, we can differentiate not only between historiographies on a sub-national level like villages and cities, but unites on a supra national level. applied to concrete form of historiography, however, we confront at least three kinds of problems that complicate this scheme, the first of which, the ideological load of some spatial concepts, was put on the agenda by Edward Said's analysis of the notion of the " Orient". Said has shown that though most spatial concepts initially appear quite neutral and innocent, they often carry important ideological and political implications. Like"the Orient", the notion of " the primitive", " the savage" and the " barbarian" have fulfilled similar ideological functions in the colonial encounter, because--like" the Orient"-----they were used as the justification fo the domination of" the primitive" by its supposed opposite: the "civilized" part of the wor

I have this situation where I have met someone who seems to be the very person I have dreamt about for as long as I can remember, including their personality....my question is could this be Mr Right, or just a fantasy that should be left that way. Is it possible that the right person is the very person I have imagined for so long, and believed never in a million years expected. The connection was instant, and felt like we had known each other forever....please I know it may sound like I am answering my own question but I really need feedback...I am not sure if I am thinking clearly because of this...
