Unfortunately the information I have is a bit patchy and he was on the other side - which makes it an unpopular search for many.

He was Austrian by birth, but I believe he went to Germany and held high rank during the war. He also served in WW1.

We know that he was an artist in his youth, but was not successful enough to make a living out of it. It is believed that he was an animal lover - particularly dogs and that although he never actually married, he did have what would be called a "life partner" these days. We don't know what his surname was, because my grandparents changed their name when they moved to England and the original was never known to anyone else.

My great uncle's first name was Adolf. We have a couple of pictures of him in his uniform - in one of them he looks like he is at an award ceremony or something because he is speaking at a lectern with a lot of people around listening to him. He had a distinctive moustache - a bit like Charlie Chaplin's...

If you have been searching under the surname Hitler, you might want to try Schiklgruber. That was his fathers surname before he went by Hitler at age 39. The original form of Hitler was Hiedler. The name was variously spelled Hiedler, Huetler, Huettler and Hitler and probably changed to "Hitler" by a clerk. You can verify that by going to Wikipedia. Another interesting fact is that your gr uncles parents were second cousins of eachother which means your gr gr grandparents were second cousins since he is your gr uncle. No wonder uncle adolph was such an angry young man.

I found a marriage record for your dear uncle and his companion. They were married on April 29, 1945 by Walther Wagner in Berlin. I don't think they spent much time together as man and wife, but I'm betting they found a warm honeymoon spot where they can stay together for an eternity.

Sounds like Adolf Hitler to me, if so, I wouldn't want to know any more about him than history has already stated.
He was a murderer and should have been slaughtered like the pig that he was.
He killed innocent people, child, women, babies, and men. Young and old and he didn't give a damn. He used them for guinea pigs, took twins and experimented on them. He was a sick SOB.
