When you are writing a book, what defines the ending of a chapter? Is it when you want to skip ahead in time, when something major was said or done, or is it something else? Sometimes I see writers with extremely long chapters, and sometimes I see others who will sometimes have one-page chapters. So what exactly defines where the end of a chapter should be?

Have you ever noticed that the majority of famous (and dead) artists are men? Theres Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gough, Picasso, M. C. Esher, Alexander Calder, etc, etc... In fact I can only remember one artist who was a women. But girls can draw better than boys and liked Art better than most (in my knowledge). So why so few female artists are known?

These books are from 1985-1992. I remember very few of the names. I'm trying to find some type of listing because I would enjoy reading them to my daughters, Most of these books were read during elementary school. Are there any lists that they would be on? I found one of the books but I can't even remember the others. I don't know where to begin to search.
