You need a good speaking voice, confidence, and a strong personality. Basic training in acting is always helpful. You need to be willing to take risks. You don't have to be beautiful, but you need to have a memorable face that people would be willing to look at for two hours straight. You also need to be physically fit, willing to stand for hours and move in unusual ways, and do the same thing night after night.
