How long have you been working on writing it? Where are you at in the process: first draft, editing, looking for publisher/agent, published already? How do you feel about your work?

I had an idea of basing a story on Lydia, a follower of Jesus, and putting her into modern times, and merging her with the legend of Adriana, the Roman goddess of the sea, and she lives under the rule of a despot, based on Idi Amin, Stalin, Pinochet and a little Putin and Bush.

She watches the people suffer for criticizing his regime and starts to fight for their rights and freedom.

I am I am! I've been working on it for two years, it is a non-fiction academic book and I spent the first year and a half reading 300 academic books for research, then half a year typing out all my handwritten notes (573 pages) and now I am starting to put all my notes together into story form, and so far I have the introduction parts and the first two chapters, in all about 70 pages, and I am aiming to keep the entire book under 500 pages. I'm not worried about professional editing, an agent, or a publisher yet. I know I will need to do about ten major editing jobs on it before I even send it to an editor, in fact I may send it to two or three editors just to make sure it is the way it should be, then I'll start looking for an agent.

I've very proud of all the work I've put into it. I've learned a lot

hi, i'm busy with one - my fourth.
i've been working on it for the past four months. i'm still busy with it, so first draft. it's going well - i have my days where i think it's incredible and others where i wonder why i even bother. time will tell. i'm not going to look for a publisher until after i've done the second draft and sent it out to a few people for feed back.
it's a long-winded process but when the end product, the baby disguised as paper and ink, emerges it's priceless.

you working on one?

Isn't everyone?
I have one novel that is finished (they're never really finished, I just stop writing them). I like it and I am proud of it. It took me about 2 years to finish, including some very long pauses. It's published on the Intertubes:

I have another story that I am more proud of, but it is a work in progress. It is also on the Intertubes:

I have two others that are in the scribbled notes and outline phase, that will probably get finished someday. I have about a dozen others that will probably never make it past notes and scribbles.

Me! I continually am writing. I guess that'd be the "writing" process. Some of my family is published though. I'm too young and poor to be published.

I have been working on mine for about a year.Because i work two jobs, i have slacked a little.I feel really good about it though,
and I think i will take a long vacation if and when i get it published.
I just look at it like the 12 labors of Hercules with a reward at the end.

Pre-writing. If I get all that work out of the way first, the actual writing is more managable and I know where I'm headed. I have to have a map to plot my book.

I'm on my final copy. I feel okay about it, and I know I want it published.

"New Mom Generation" About a mom who wears skulls, hot pink, and has purple hair can be a mother too. And a good one.
