Trivial winds have burdened our souls
Our minds
Our lives

While crying voices reside only briefly
In our ever deafening ears
Avarice is amplified by our
now sole desires

While the hopeless slave
To supply oil for their only lamp
We destroy to supply meat
For our belly's growing fat

Though by our treasures
We stay afloat
through life's tides
They miss their boat

So if trivialities indeed
Supply our needs
We must live in ecstasy

I remember reading an article about 2 years ago, possibly in Playboy magazine, about famous literary feuds. One of the feuds covered was Dave Eggers vs. James Frey. Can't find anything about the article anymore, but I recall details, namely the one in the subject line here, that I can't find anywhere else. Does anyone know about either the article or the Beth Eggers thing?

From what I've researched, ghosts only appear when people are afraid of death. Their appearance comes in a misty,dull gray apparition form...they can also appear with infrasound, which is a sound that has a very low frequency and can't be heard by the human ears, even if you had them in perfect condtion. All I want to know is that if they are real or not because my dad's seen a circus man driving a carriage around a lake...bad things happened there like witchcraft.

I'm 14 and I want to be a actress. I never acted before should I go to a acting school w.e? I'm dont have much acting skills yet but I dont know why but I'm like so obsessed with it. Everytime I watch movies I get goosebumps and I just want to do acting more. \Please dont tell me that I cant do it cus everyone who has gone big once had a dream and they were just like me. My old art teacher left last year to get her masters degree. She was is mentor and I have an extremely close relationship with her. We still keep in touch and she helps me out with art or if I need advice on my personal life. My new teacher knows how close I am with my previous teacher and is very bitter towards me. Because of it, she has become incompetent, not helping me with my work, and won't tell me about contests or art festivals etc. I think it's because shes jealous that I had such a great teacher before her and she envies it. The worst part is that she is incharge of Yearbook, and chooses the editor, which I want to be next year. I'm afraid that she won't choose me because she doesn't like me. In the past she once told another student that she didn't want me to be elected Vice President of Art Honor Society (which she is in charge of) but luckily it was election by voting so I won. I don't know what to do because I want to be editor but can't stand her. PLEASE HELP!!!

me and my best friend have been working on a book since the 8th grade (were now in 10th) and there isn't much written yet... i have about 20 pages hand written and she has about the same.. we keep adding (we write seperate chunk and were gonna meld them together in the end.. theres no order to how we write) and adding, but never enough to count..we want to finish it before the end of highschool so we can let out english teachers read it.. but as it is, were always to busy to work on it.. and when we have time, we dont feel in the creative mood.. any tips on this?

at my school, drama gets the back burner after EVERYTHING else... we dont get funding for anything, it all comes out of our own pockets and the royalties come out of our directors pocket... then we need guys constantly! we were gonna do tom sawyer with it revied so much that we only needed 5 guys and we couldn't get them! in a school of over 400 students and after dropping down to teh 8th grade boys for help.. we only ended up with 4 guys.. adn we had to beg one of them!

yet, we have more females than we'll ever need and none of us are suitable for pretending to be a man (physically, we all either have to large chests or to high of voices) and its insane!!! when we try to do fundraisers were sure will get money, we loose money! We have no auditorium or stage at all, we practice in the old gym (built in the 50's) that used to be the middle school gym, but now is for the cheerleaders to practice and for us to share.. but they REFUSE to let us move their stuff, so we have no room!!
