Any descendants of George Washington would be only in the collateral line rather than in the direct line. There may be some descendants still of brothers or sisters to Washington, but none of him directly. Because of descent from a sibling, one is still a descendant of another--for example, both of my sisters have grandchildren who are indeed descended from me, but not directly; we share common ancestors, my mother being their great-grandmother, but they are not in my DIRECT bloodline, as any grandchildren I may eventually have will be. Hence, they are COLLATERAL descendants from me.

Washington, as far as is known, never fathered any children. He had contracted smallpox as an adolescent, and some believe that this rendered him sterile. His wife had four or five children by her first husband, Daniel Parke Custis, only one of whom (her son John) lived to adulthood--in fact, this son and a daughter about 1 1/2 years his junior were the only stepchildren Washington had. However, there were no children of the marriage of George Washington and Martha Dandridge Custis, and therefore no direct descendants.

Washington had no children. His wife, Martha Custis Washington, was a widow with children and he raised them. Robert E. Lee is kin to Martha.

Living proof that our Presidents are CHOSEN by blood line. Since Bush is linked to English Royalty more then John Kerry, he got the nod to be the next President by the Bilderberg Group (this group actually runs things).

George Washington married the widowed Martha Custis, who had her own children.

Unless he had kids of the "unofficial" variety, the only thing Washington was the father of was his country.

number one, still has should be still have, number two, as far as I know, he and his wife died childless and thus ended the name of Washington from the original family. Some freed slaves adopted the name though.

I'M SURE THERE IS SOMEONE CLAIMING THAT GEORGE WASHINGTON IS THEIR GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GRAND FATHER. IF HE HAD ANY CHILDREN AND THEY HAD CHILDREN AND SO ON, THERE SHOULD BE RELATIVES OF THE FIRST PRESIDENT.
