Get involved and persistence. Try some new activities and build up your resume.

Get some acting books- read them. They're good sources of knowledge.

CLASSES CLASSES CLASSES! Work on your skills, don't be discouraged. Try going to an academy such as John Robert Powers or Barbizon or something to that effect. They can get you involved with agents and such. Which can get you to your acting career.

I think another thing you should consider, is if you want theater or the movies...There two highly different acting. Focus on one but attempt both, understood?

Don't give up, hon! If you really want it, you can make it.

E-mail me if you have anymore questions.

Take care and good luck!

Start with local classes or community theaters. Once you have that down, get a few monologues memorized, both comedic and dramatic and perfect them. That way you can audition for anything and have a piece prepared. Pick something original, yet still fitting for you. 1-2 minutes is probably best, because if they do a cattle call audition, they dont want to hear a long monologue. Its all about auditions. That is your first impression, and it means everything to getting the part. Some people like to form themselves to the character they are trying to get. I say be yourself, be original. Maybe the director sees something in you that would be great for the character. Dress comfortably. And also, learn. Watch the other actors/actresses, and learn from them, they know what they are doing. Dont be afraid to ask questions. Good luck, from the drama queen herself.

You can be anything you want to be in life. Be honest to yourself and others and you'll achieve everything your heart desires yada yada yada...

...see, that's how you act. Pretty good huh? Get an education, that's what you do. Go through college and get a degree. Even if you major in drama or art history or whatever, you'll at least get the basic skills to get through life and find a job in case the acting 'thing' doesn't work out. Then get a job with flexible hours and go on as many acting auditions as possible. Start now if you want to. The more you try something, the more you learn about how to do it right. And always politely ask the people who are turning you down along the way, "What did I do wrong?".
Good luck.
