Hi,
I talk with lots of people everyday because of my job. I have a problem. I sometimes tell them about my personal problems. That is surely not acceptable. Every time I do it, I regret afterwards. But somehow I can't help doing it. I have also seen a psychologist but didn't work. Any ideas??? Pls. I really have had enough of being ashamed all the time. Thank you

Is there a moral compass built into humans?

For example I give a hypothetical situation:

A human child is abducted out of the maternity ward by aliens and taken back to their planet.

This child is raised by the aliens as their own, he is not mistreated according to their cultural values.

The aliens society views murder, rape, torture, kidnapping, etc. as acceptable behaviour.

This child is then returned to earth after thirty years on the liens planet.

Would this human be horrified by his new home (the alien planet) and be a 'normal' but ‘screwed up’ human when returned, or would he be exactly like the aliens? Does this mean that humans do or do not have a built in moral compass? What does this mean for our society and moral codes?

Please explain your answers. I thank you in advance for your insight.

i'm the only girl on my dad's side (among first cousins). i mostly go out with my bro and my guy cousin who aren't such great dancers. everytime i have a friend (that's a girl) come over for a vacation, i dance with her. it's more fun dancing with someone who KNOWS HOW to dance. so it practically sucks when you have parents who say that i have no confidence because i can only dance if a friend is around. that's the thing. it sucks. b/c i really want the confidence to dance alone. how do i do that without being humiliated?
