what major events/parts should be looked at when it comes to the development of the serif?
1) how it came to be i.e. stone chisseled by Romans etc and then the Gothic period and how it dissappeared until renaissance
2) roman numerals
3) Trajans column
4) Renaissance
5) the guy who developed serif from the human proportions of the body...forgot his name, sorry.
what about after renaissance period? what happened to the serif from then until now and how has it developed? any major events that i have missed out from the above list? i can look at how garamond and other classical typefaces have extended through out centuries but dont know much about who did them and why and how though. what about how is it developing today? are people designing their own SERIF fonts and why serif and not san serif? is it possible to design a serif font with such precision like Romans did today and why is it still used?

for a tale of two cities by charles dickens...
is the FOREHEAD an important symbol or theme?

I found it used multiple times in the book but I'm not sure if it means anything...

if it is important...does it have anything to do with the theme of KNITTING/Sewing/Thread???

any help on this subject (of Foreheads) would be great!
Thanks.

Take yourselves out of nationalistic pride a moment, and review the facts; the U.S. dropped a second bomb on Nagasaki just to show that we had more than one over 75000 people killed.
Giving the bomb to the U.S.S.R. caused parody, the Bomb has never been used again. Think about it.

Particularly in the painting genre...
Would you know of any paintings that are really tasteful and elegant - preferably a dramatic scene with (emotional-angry, sad, etc..) people.

Something like this painting, but with more emotion and no babies:

Thanks for your help!!

I am an O.K. singer, but if I want to hit a wider range of notes, I need help! Is there any online singing program that actually worked. I've seen tons that are like "this really works" and "you'll be a great singer in just three weeks" and of course these courses cost money. Have any of you tried any of them, and did they work, and what are the called? please help! I want to become a singer!! At least at church!

I am good in public speaking and generally keep my audience involved but I have never left my audience mesmerised as the great speakers do. I wish to know what can I do (apart from my homework) to influence my audience to a great extent.
No jokes. Serious answers please.

I do.

I've always wanted to walk across a New York Street, bang my hands down on the bonnet of a yellow cab and yell "I'm walkin' here" a la Al Pacino.

I have no idea why - just appeals to me.

You?

I'd like to incorporate the fashion I see on the streets in my city for a marketing project, but I'm now sure how I can snap pics without looking like sleazy? My first choice is to walk up to the women and ask to take a picture of them, but that's not always practical. Sometimes people will be across a street and too far to catch up with.
