Actually, I'm a sucker for books, period, except your typical 'cheap paperback novel'

I'd definitely want reference, non-fiction and fiction... and well-organized... with a ladder, floor to ceiling shelves and a card catalog... :)

I end up buying books before reading them, although I have bought many books that I have read first as well. Sometimes the books I buy without having read are classic works that I know I'll want to read and have. Others are by an author who has a writing style I enjoy and thus I know I will enjoy his or her other works. Yet others are books that enough people have recommended to me and were on sale that I decided to get them. I also happen to love the atmosphere of bookstores which probably adds to the spending of money on books. Although, I have gotten quite a few of my books from places like GoodWill or Value Village. It's always fun to find a book that has never been read for a dollar. I also know that I would love a library in my house when I get one. Some people plan their dream houses, I sketched out my dream library room when I was about 13.

It depends so my personal library's shelved and stacked many classic/contemporary novels, essays, everyday philosophy, ethics, autobiographies, biographies, travels, history, literature, literary criticism, mythology, anthology, diaries, good translations from other languages, dictionaries, references, etc.

You see the list can go on and on but we need them to read/collect just to console my life for the sake of my humble help/contribution to my students, colleagues, friends and the community in the sense of where I live and via the Internet. In brief, we do so as a hobby of a bibliophile and simple pursuit as a man/woman of letters if need be.
