Hi there. It has got to be "Guards! Guards!".This book first turned me on to Terry Pratchett, I have always wondered about those guys and who they were and then Terry told me! Every character in the book is just spot on but as I get older I find myself more and more like Sam Vimes (much as I try to kid myself I am like Carrot!) in outlook, the best anti-hero ever. Colon and Nobby fill the best comedy double act place to perfection, too - but is there a bad character in the book? Can't think of one!
Cheers Steve.

The Wee Free Men

I was a little dubious about this book at first, but it turned out to be really good! The characters were all really convincing, which made the book seem real. I really felt like the book came to life and I got really caught up in the adventures of the little blue men and of Tiffany. Their journey into Fairyland was really different. In most fairy books, it is a wonderful place that is lots better than mortal realms. In this book, though, fairyland was really frightening and eerie; a welcome change.
