I want to know what the meaning of time actually is. Could it be possible that all existence is living on different levels of consciousness. Did yesterday really happen, is tomorrow just a concept? Is this question even valid?

I know all those Eurasian royals intermarried, so they're probably related somehow, but I thought I heard she was a direct descendant somewhere and haven't been able to confirm it.

I am looking for a novel that is very sad (either happy or sad ending is fine, just don't tell me which!).

I haven't found a book that made me really sad yet, so any suggestions are welcome.

(I've already read A Child Called It - I know some people will suggest that!)

Thanks for your help :o)

How cool will history be in the future? They will have writings and photographs of people from every day life from the 1990s and onward at least. Whereas we only have texts and bad quality photographs from this century. Imagine we had photographs of medieval times. And in 500 years people will have photographs and videos and writings of us. It will be a whole new way of studying history! Do you have thoughts on this???

in contemporary literature, and in the media and social interaction in general?

Does this have something to do with the limited attention span of 21st century man? Is it related to Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)? Can we blame it all on that and Ritalin? Does it date back to August 1, 1981, the fateful date when MTV began broadcasting? Or does it go back to the earliest sitcoms or the advent of television itself? Does it perhaps predate even television?

Please share your views. I am open to controversy, welcome it in fact. Is my supposition itself full of holes? Tell me so.

I came across a site like that once a long time ago and I can't remember what it was. There was also a site where you could choose which attributes you want in a book in a scale, and it comes up with a list of books tailored exactly to what you are looking for. (Example, if you wanted a sad book that was inspirational but didn't have a lot of violence, you would choose those three on a scale). It was a really great site, so if anyone knows what it is I'd appreciate a link! Thanks!
