Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret, The Chronicles of Narnia (but read them in order) Alan and Naomi, Bridge to Terabithia, A tree grows in Brooklyn, The Devil's Arithmetic, Tuck Everlasting, The Giver. Judy Blume and Roald Dahl are good Arthers.

I don't know if perhaps for your age you might enjoy it or not but Dan Brown's books are pretty good, they mix a different kind of magic such as in the arts or technology with a fast paced plot.

The books Dan Brown has out are;
The Da Vinci Code
Angels & Demons
Deception Point
Digital Fortress
~ I've read Harry Potter & all of these & I thoroughly enjoyed them.

Also there's an author called Elisabeth Kostova who wrote a book called "The Historian" that I've read very recently. I devoured this book, its based around the legend of Dracula but its much more than your ordinary Dracula tale, lots of mystery with such great language throughout.

As other people have also said I would also recommend Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Charles Dickens.

If your just a book fan in general you may enjoy the styles of Charlotte Bronte who wrote Jane Eyre, Thomas Hardy who wrote Tess of the D'Urbervilles & Far From the Madding Crowd among others, William .H. Thackeray's Vanity Fair, Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, Leo Tolstoy's War & Peace (huge book!) there's so many to choose from!

Good luck in finding what you're looking for....x

Redemption of Althalus by David and Liegh Eddings. This book was AMAZING!!! Its fantasy with a realistic tone like the Harry Potter books. It has a great cast of charactors and even though I've read it 3x already I'll still go back to it. Go to the Barnes and Noble site down below and type in the name of the book to read up on it, trust me you'll want to pick this book up!!! I wish I could tell you more about it but I don't want to ruin the surprises for you. :(

The Giver by Lois Lowry is a very good book too. It's a really different kind of book because it makes you think about one group of people in control, thinking a certain way, can really alter our complete perception of things. In this book people are actually told they can not perform simple tasks that us as humans do every day. If you are looking for a change from the norm this is what you want to read.

I love the Harry Potter books! Another series that has the same flavor is the Young Wizardry series by Diane Duane.
1. So You Want to be a Wizard
2. Deep Wizardry
3. High Wizardry
4. A Wizard Abroad
...and 4 others so far.

Cornelia Funke Inkheart is great and so is the sequel Inkspell; Artemis Fowl is a must read for sure; The supernaturealists by Eoin Colfer; Tamora Peirce writes books that are females in a land called Tortall. the females generally have to overcome something to either become a night or do something very important in the land; Lois duncan isn't really related any to HArry potter but i love Harry and the books by Lois Duncan. Her books are of teens that have something spooky going on in their life; i also like Sarah Dessen. Her books are really Chick books romance novels but not mushy mushy. I'm 13 and i found them very interesting. Hope that helps out!

Hey! I am fifteen too!!! And I too love Harry Potter and A Series of Unfortunate Events, another book that I would reccomend for books like that would probably be the Charlie Bone books and Eragon. I know this, isn't quite in the genre of books you are reading but, I also recommend Gossip Girls and Nancy Drew, Anne of Green Gables, and finally some books by Patrcia C. Wrede like Dealing with Dragons and such they are all kind of cute. But, I recommend Dealing with Dragons I think it's a series. BYE!

There are a lot of great suggestions on here.
I am a lot older than you and I really enjoyed the seven books that made up "The Chronicles of Narnia".
Even at my age, 51, I enjoyed it. I read the second book, "The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe" when I was younger and never knew there were more or even a book that came before it.
I bought it at Wal-Mart for $19.99. That is not a bad price for seven books in one.
Hope you find something that can keep your interest for I too have a love of reading. I get lost in the pages. Literally live in the words of the book. I have to be careful what I read because of this too.
Have fun.

Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
Inheritance Trilogy by Paolini is ok
Shannara series by Terry Brooks
The Forgotten Realms novels by Ed Greenwood and by RA Salvatore
The Avatar series (Forgotten Realms, couple of authors)
If you want a quick grin the Xanth series by Piers Anthony is worth reading through.

I'd also reccomend books like "Brave New World" by A Huxley, "Slaughterhouse 5" by K Vonnegut, and "Catch 22" by J Heller. These are more literary valued books but quite entertaining as well.
