I'm looking for a good translation of "The Epic of Gilgamesh" to read just for fun. I usually enjoy the Penguin Classic translations, so I was thinking about picking one up. In this case, the translator is Andrew George. Has anyone had any experience with this version that can compare it to other translations? I'd like to read it mainly because i'm just looking for a good epic tale, but i'd like to learn about it as much as possible too, so if there's a better version (eg. if George's version leaves out a lot of details for better readability), if you could tell me about it, that'd be great.

The Human Trap

Seperate me.
It's all essential to you.

Cut me up.
And spit out all the peicies.

Break me so I cannot be fixed.
And count my fairy tales.

For I'm too complex
And too keen to fall
into the human trap.

I now inquire all that
is wanted about the
human being I'm suspose
to become.

And I obtain no anwsers,
for all that I'm recieving
is decieving lies.

It seems as if the world has
conspired agansit me and
already has informed me
of the life I'll shall live.

I wish they would use the five
senses they have and see
what they've done.

Even though they would not
blink twice, at least they will
see what I'm about to become.

I will display the assumptions
that are false and create a fate
for which I'll shall die in.

For those who do not believe
that they are decent enough
to suceed, are donating to
the human trap.

I have a portfolio to fill out in my art class, but the teacher told me that web-designing is not an art and would not let me do it unless I can convince her otherwise. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me convince this teacher and prove to her that web-design really is an art form? Thanks for your help!

so, this was the first day back at school. i get in my art class and the teacher hands out this paper asking "what statement do you want to make with your art". she said that she wants us to go along with some type of theme.. it sucks because i dont like themes, i like each of my artwork pieces having their own statement.. not relating to each other. but, you know, ive got to listen to what she says.. so i was wondering.. what theme should i pick?

p.s. i really enjoy surreal artwork. salvador dali is my favourite artist and biggest influence.

I remember when I was in grade 6, we had to recreate our own versions of pictures using similar medium. One of them, which I never got around to recreating myself, I believe was "The great wave of Kanagawa" by Katsushika Hokusai. What medium would he have used for his original picture?
