I need a NOVEL in English which first features the struggle of the main character, then after reaching his or her goal or peak (something like he/she got what he/she is struggling for), the main character experiences his/her downfall, a sort of he/she went down from his/her peak.... I need these events in order, please please please... Be kind enough to be serious with me... 2 examples are "The house of the spirits" by Isabel Allende and "The Good Earth"...Thanks!!!!

sadness
at the hospital
angles in the air
taking ones we love so much
away on golden wings
sitting here
morning sun is out
seeing one i love so much
lying dead in bed
motionless i cry silent tears
wishing she was here again
wishing i was gone
family all around
brushing hair
removing ring
i know shes relly gone
spring flowers bloom but my world is black
i watch her lay there motionless
i cry out whyd you leave
i want you back
but knowing she will never come
i sit in shock and weep

caught in the brush strokes of starry night,

lost in the circling darkness

hovering above the jagged city scape

painted canvas night mares

haunt my sleep and taunt my soul

the glimpse of a star, so far away

gives false hopes of happiness some day

Just recently I have been aware that most of my decisions, actions and thoughts are directed by the need to protect or boost the ego.

This has made me ask questions:

Is humanity enslaved to the demands of the ego?

What would we strive for if not to feed our egos?

What direction would the evolution of humanity take if not for the manifestation of the ego?

Is there a universal ego?

Would a widespread consciousness of the ego change humanity for the better or worse?

I know there are alot of questions within this one - but I'm interested to hear your thoughts as I have seen some good answers so far on various topics.

art is a divine flame that must set fire to the world, until the world with all its infamy and anguish, burns and melts way in redeeming compassion.

if it's actually you, you'll no doubt know where this comes from.

so long.

"Here we were meeting but already my well beloved was waiting there. Such was his greeting, "gracious lady", that ever since I've walked on air. Did he kiss me, yes and well, look how red my lips are still. With the flowers there my love made a magic bower for me."
