Highly artistic and creative people tend to have higher levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in there brains during there crative time but the body is generally unable to maitain such high levels of norepinephrine and serotonin. These imbalances or flucuaions cause mood swings and are te basis for many psychological disorders.

Hmmm, I'm artistic, and very creative and can say I do not have psychological problems but.....
lived about a lot of people who did. I'm lucky, I lived on the edge of the box and saw both sides of the coin. Unlucky to see the dark side but rewarded for not allowing all the BS to drive me insane. It could have, but didn't. It did unlock a door though with a very wide doorway-lol
As I sit here and think about things, I am very aware of how close I was to that thin line some speak of, the path to insanity I suppose. I couldn't take anymore BS really. But instead of losing the plot, I dealt with the situation and it is then I discovered the rewards.
It's when we don't deal with what could drive us insane, or escape the insane that we could become insane-
The problems were about me, not me

Some psychological problems can spark the artistic side in us.. but I feel that the talents of being artistic and creative make up for the cons of the psychological issues. It's an "equivalent exchange" in my eyes.

I think it has something to do with the left side of their brain. In most situations, a person is either better off using the right side of their brain (creative intelligence) rather than the left (general intelligence). Therefore, their creativeness sometimes makes them focus less on the real world and they begin to see things people who use their left side more normally wouldn't. It's kind of like just living in a different world that's more interesting than the alternate, if that makes sense.
I don't think their sanity should be questioned, I think they're just misunderstood because they tend to see the world in a more creative way. And that just enhances the beauty of what they create, doesn't it?

This is not necessarily true. Creative people aren't true nut cases. If you really want to know the truth of the matter, I will tell you that the critics and the adoring public can drive a person crazy more than anything else.
Artistic and creative people get a lot of attention for whatever reason the public deems to shower them with. It may be great in the beginning and with each and every accomplishment, more and more is expected of these people and when expectations aren't met or exceeded, the disappointed "public" and/or the critics love to bash. These kinds of things tend to wear a person out.

I like to draw, paint and such. I seem to have psychological problems too, some of which i think r genetics. Also i think i tend to be involded in art is because since i have problems it is something I can still do regardless of certain hindrances. Another thing i've learned is that after puting so much time, effort, personality in a work of art, when others critique your work it can they either love it or hate. If they love it, gives a false sense of security b/c your next might not b as good. If they hate it, well u get so wrapped up trying to make the art perfect u get stressed and end up ruining it by doing too much.

People know that they are highly artistic and creative. As a result, they are under a lot of stress.Stress is deadly--it leads to psychological problems.

Maybe the psychological problems are what make them artistic and creative. Most people are too afraid of ridicule to 'step outside the box.'

Lots of people who are NOT a creative person at all.....have psychological
problems. Actually more than you know....So, really.....this is a Myth, and it
has NOT been even proven. There are millions of very talented people who
don't have problems in that way. It is a MYTH. Not fact. Creative people are
meant to be that way. God gave them that gift, whatever talent it is. Without
extremely talented people in this world.......it would be a very boring place.

What i am saying is that ...maybe artistic people are not crazy after all....they are just clever that logical people dont seem to get...so they lock em up...Dali was a nutcase...but look at his work..a genius...same as musicians....Its all about rules...the world was build up in a way the last 300 - 400 years maybe more i dont know with certain rules...."u act like that you are crazy you will be locked up or you will be hanged" Stupid...i think we killed and we locked the wrong people up...!!
