It will only be about a two hour flight, but I am starting to feel extrememly anxious about it. Sometimes I have panic attacks just being in a car...so I am afraid that I will get on the plane and start freaking out. Any advice on keeping the anxiety levels down?

I have a HP dvd840i burner in my computer that is about 1.5 years old. It worked fine until last week when it stopped sensing DVD disks of any kind. It still works normally for any kind of CD, but when I put any kind of DVD (commercially recorded video, or blank RW, etc.) it acts as if there is no disk no matter what I do. I have reinstalled the software and downloaded and installed the latest firmware but no changes.

I have two high end combo machines that both have the same problem - the "laser eye" is misreading or is need of repair. They both went "down" in less than 3 years - no, I did NOT buy the extended warranty.

Is there a cheap way to repair these things? Quotes I have are for $250.00 but I feel the repair shops would rather I just leave them there and this would give them the economic opportunity to then re-sell or keep for themselves.

I am tired of this so I went and purchased the "cheap" model (laughs to self and thinks this one will out last the others) and it works just as good and easier to use.

What happened to nintendo? it seems to be that all they care about is getting females , non gamers , and young people into gaming , if you have ever seen an ad for crossword puzzle games for the ds you know what i am talking about the only good thing i find about nintendo is that they always come up with a new innovative way of gaming but the graphics and choice of games are boring. so why does nintendo encourage people to play video games and push away hardcore gamers?

It took me 6 months to recover from my first emergency c-section (20 months ago) and I'm scared to go through surgery again.

My husband I are having a hard time getting our 6 month old to sleep in his crib. Lately he has become extrememly attached to me and absolutely will not go to sleep unless I lay down with him. I have no problem laying down with him and then moving him to his crib but not 5 seconds after I move him he is screaming bloody murder. The only way he sleeps soundly is if he sleeps with me. I have tried to let him cry it out but honestly I just can't do it. I don't want my child to feel abandoned and that he can't count on me when he really needs me and I feel that the Ferber method leads to that. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I know an obvious answer is that those jobs have gone to nations with lower wages. But how have Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan managed to keep those industries while having high wages and standards of life? Why dont any American companies produce things such LCD televisions, cell phones, (exclude the iphone), digital cameras, and such? I would love to see our nations companies stay here and provide jobs here. I want to see high tech comsumer products with "Made in America" logos. I am concerned about our economy and the potential demise in research and development traditionally done here.

I used to get my haircut at a certain place for a few years from a hairdresser who went to beauty school with my mother. He always did a great job on my hair and I eventually got to know him and sometimes even asked him for advice.

But this past year, the place has gone down as the employees at that salon were fighting and arguing in front of customers and the service from the shampoo women and cashiers became horrible. So I stopped going there and began getting my haircut at another place from then on these past few months.

My friend and I, just a week ago, went to the mall where the salon is, and we stopped by to say hi to the hairdresser and he became extremely rude towards me and was completely sarcastic and nasty. I don't know if its just the fact I changed places because I grew tired of the service, but also could be from personal problems. Regardless, I told my friend I wouldn't go back there or speak to the stylist again.

Was I right?
