I was at a friends house today, and her daughter took one of her diet pills that was sitting on the counter, pulled the capsule apart with her teeth, then threw it on the ground. She didnt ingest all that much, but a dextroamphetamine seems pretty powerful. She called poison control, and they basically said that Toddlers usually don't swallow things if it has a foul taste. They told her to keep a close eye on her daughter and to give her syrup of ipecac. She didn't have any syrup of ipecac, so she gagged her daughter until she threw up.

Does anyone else think the poison control people handled the situation badly? Has this ever happened to anyone? Tell me what you think.

I have two kids of my own, and it worries me that poison control may not be at the top of their game. Who knows when one of my kids accidently ingests poison.

I've been a social worker for many years, and I want to start writing on the side, if I can fit it into my schedule. My english literature prof., and my boss at my current job have both commented on my writing skills as being very good. Thus, I've been motivated by them to try writing as a past time.

When I'm writing about subjects that I really like, I find that people who read my work think that it is really good. I believe I may have a shot at being a successful writer. I just want to know where to begin.

During the wedding rehearsal, the groom approached the vicar with an unusual offer. "Look, I’ll give you $100 if you’ll change the wedding vows. When you get to me and the part where I'm to promise to 'love, honor and obey' and 'forsaking all others, be faithful to her forever,' I'd appreciate it if you'd just leave that part out."


He passed the clergyman the cash and walked away satisfied.

The wedding day arrives, and the bride and groom have moved to that part of the ceremony where the vows are exchanged. When it comes time for the groom's vows, the vicar looks the young man in the eye and says, "Will you promise to prostrate yourself before her, obey her every command and wish, serve her breakfast in bed every morning of your life and swear eternally before God and your lovely wife that you will not ever even look at another woman, as long as you both shall live?"

The groom gulped and looked around, and said in a tiny voice, "Yes."

The groom leaned toward the vicar and hissed, "I thought we had a deal."

The vicar put the $100 into his hand and whispered back, "She made me a much better offer."

I had windows 98 in a laptop, i decided to upgrade to windows xp, ok, the instlallation was great no problem, i have an original cd with all the information they ask...after the instalation i went online and try to download avg, when avg restart the computer that's it, no more internet, i can not go online, it says page not found, but is every page, so there is something wrong, but the connection is fine, signal is fine, i have my own router and all the other computers in the house work, i tried calling my internet provider and they said that everything is fine, the only thing they can think is that i don't have all the drivers i need for the windows xp and he suggest to download the drivers, now i have internet cause a restore the system from when i finished the xp installation, and i tried to install avg again and the same thing happend again. can someone tell me if i have to download drivers or something or what should i do. I have a panasonic toughbook, thanks in advance.

I have been a stay at home mother of two for the last 4 months. Before that I worked 50-60 hr weeks in a 5 star hotel, pulling double shifts and working overnights. I was coming home around 2am nightly, then having to get up w/ the kids at 6am so that my hubby could go to work. I would go back to work @ 3pm and do it all over again, sometimes only getting 1 day off or worse none. I was under a LOT of stress when my hubby agreed that I needed to be home with the kids (2 & 3 yrs). He had chose to get a second job (10-16 hrs a week), and I was collecting unemploy. so we were pretty much averaging the same income as when I was working. The 1st month being home was the most difficult, I didn't have a routine or a schedule. He would get upset that something didn't get done b/c I was home all day. Throwing in my face that he's the only one working! I get no time to myself, and when I ask him if he can take the kids, he tells me he has other things to do. I feel selfish if I ask for help

We went to the vet today to get her 5-6 week old cat inspected and checked on. Well, the cat has ben bloated a bit, and when we asked, the vet said it may be due to worms or a parasite. No specifics, just that info. He gave the cat a pill, and sent her home with us. So, will the worms/parasite she may have be contagious to her other cat? And if it is, how will we be able to keep it from spreading?

I live in the USA. When I've lived in Europe, I generally have not had much problem meeting women, because they're out and about more than in America. Over there, I could meet a nice girl in a store, on a train, at a tourist site. In the USA, they make themselves scarce and only seem to materialize in bars (why?). As it happens, I absolutely hate bars. I don't like drunk people. And I don't like spending money just to get into a club or whatever.

is not the dad i remember, he cheated on my mom, moved out, takes stuff, threatened my family, trys to take the car that will make us pretty much hopeless, called out my brother, and takes my brothers medals from when he served in Iraq that he gave to my mom and refused to give them back, but still is friendly with me.

what do i do?
i fear his seperation of him and God.
