I was raised a Mormon, so I know the scriptures I was told from the King James Version of the Bible. I was also raised that we hate Satan and that he does not deserve our love. I went to another religion once. The Reverend preached that we all should hate Satan and never love him. I was confused with this thought after reading this scripture.
Matthew 5:43, 44
“You heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you"
I also went to a Parenting Class once and the instructor made this comment. “If your child done something wrong, Do you hate your child? The answer should be “NO!” You hate what the child done that was wrong but NEVER hate the child for doing it.
So with this thought in mind, Can’t we hate what Satan did and is doing but still love him? After all, He is our brother just like Christ is, isn’t he?
