... yet, we hear of stories where people have seen, heard, felt, smelled, or even tasted hell or heaven? Aren't the five senses exclusive to... the living? Don't those senses only work by the mind--a "human" organ?

Also, I saw a video of a guy who said he could see his friends in hell... still, I thought our human characteristics don't follow us to these places people call heaven and hell.

Could you explain this to me?

Over the years it has become obvious that our bodies rot when we die. Even the most devout Christian realises there is no point in saying otherwise.

As for that business about going to heaven or hell? Any evidence for that claim?

Look at the creed I look forward to the resurection of the dead-and the Bible says the grave shall give up her dead...there is going to be a bodily resurection according to tradtional Christianity like the Orthodox and Roman Cahtolics and a few others

"yet, we hear of stories where people have seen, heard, felt, smelled, or even tasted hell or heaven?"

Can I explain it to you? Sure - people are lying.

No-one has ever "seen, heard, felt, smelled, or even tasted hell or heaven". There is no such thing as "hell" or "heaven".

If Jesus had a bodily resurrection, wouldn't it follow that we would too?

I think it was Plato or Aristoltle that posited the "trans-migration of souls" where in the afterlife we would only have "spiritual" type bodies.

I believe the Bible teaches a bodily resurrection from the dead.

Because we won't? We will have "glorified" bodys that are very good. Hell is a name for A) the grave, where no one knows anything. and B) the purifying fire that cleans the earth eliminating sin and sinners- which hasn't happened yet. Many people lie, but YHVH tells the truth.
