If the earth had no air (atmosphere) or mountains to interfere, could a satellite given adequate initial velocity orbit arbitraitly close to the earth's surface -- provided it did not touch?

a) Yes, it could.

b) No, orbits are only possible at a sufficient distance above the earth's surface where gravitation is reduced.

I want to make a chocolate peppermint trifle. I was going to add peppermint extract to the cool whip and crushed candy canes on top. How much extract should I use for one tub of coolwhip. Do you think the peppermint will taste okay with the vanilla pudding in the trifle?

In a nutshell, I blew it, big time. I was completely wrong and I am completely embarassed to say the least. Thank God for anonymity on this site so I can get some advice. I am a supervisor and I told them to leave work early on Friday to spend time with their families. I did not get prior approval from my supervisor to do this and she is upset. I basically shut down my department and gave them additional paid time off for about 2 hours without executive approval. Dumbie, I know. But, it truly never ocurred to me to even think it would be a problem. The department was so slow, and nothing was going on, so I just thought it'd be nice to let them go home early. She, my supervisor, is very upset with me. She said we'd "deal with it after Christmas." I don't blame her for being upset. I've worried all weekend. Do I take it, apologize and hope things are forgotten about later? Or would it be in my best interest to go ahead and start looking for employment elsewhere?Embarassed!

to me grappling martial arts especially judo which use throw s seem impracticable in a real defense situation. first is the area around you, while your grappling you wouldn't really have a sense of your surroundings. and you you could damage your self in the takedown because your not on those blue gym mats.

iv had this dream before like 2 yrs ago and it really creeps me out. During this whole dream i was telling myself in my head wake up wake up while i was dreamin but i couldn't open my eyes. well there was this disease going around and if you got it ppl would stay away from you because u would eventually die and people could get it when u go near them. We went to a store me and my family and some1 who had got it gave it 2 me so i started going crazy and my family ran away from me but it went away so my family came back. Than we went 2 hiding. I'm really serious about this. I asked a question about the good being punished with the bad and someone said to deal with it or drop out. So I chose to drop out. I really see this as unfair. But being the type of person that I am, I decided to drop out. I'm going to be honest. I want it either my way or no way. So it was either deal with it or drop out. is believing that Jesus died for your sins, then why does it say in the Bible that very few will make it, many will call Lord Lord, but he will turn away. I believe it takes much more than to just believe in God, you must also have a pure heart, a kind heart, Not a selfish one.
