im in a real pinch!i dont have baking soda and i cant go out to pick some up!!will my pumkin bread be ruined without it??anyone kno any baking soda substitutes??

Put in 3 times the amount of baking powder.

If the recipe also includes Baking Powder, you can probably get by without it (although it might rise slightly less).

If there is no other leavening agent, it will be dense and you probably shouldn't try it.

Maybe pumpkin pie?

It won't rise. Baking soda is a leavener

It will be flat and dense w/o it.... it won't rise. And pumpkin bread can be pretty dense even w/ leavening.

If you have baking POWDER, try subbing that. It's better than nothing.

try using self raising flour instead of plain flour
