Little Boy Child
Play with life,
My little boy child,
The road goes on,
For miles and miles,
Stop to chase snowflakes,
Leapfrog, catch rain,
Kiss the miller's daughter,
Search for treasure in the cane,
The more times you reach
Into pockets of time,
For a token, or ticket,
A piece of red twine,
Or pause to throw seed
From the hen keepers gate,
The less time you'll have
To fear, loathe and hate,
These moments spent well,
My little boy child,
Turn days into lifetimes,
Inches to miles,
Strength comes from vision,
Wisdom from smiles,
Let fools seek out fortune,
March rank and file,
For when you do reach
The toll master's gate,
No icon of gold
Scepter, or crown,
Will pay for the passage,
Like this love you have found…
