I am a Christian, and always hear my fellow Christians attacking Atheists and Agnostics. The people I know who are Atheist/Agnostic, however, are pretty indifferent to God; disbelief is just a small aspect of their lives.
Why do some people think that these people hate God? Does anyone else think it is un-Christian to judge these people? Shouldn't we leave that up to God Himself??

I'm a Christian, and I've never thought that atheists hate God. Why would they waste their time hating something they don't even believe in? That would be absurd. As for agnostics, I don't believe that they hate God, either.

In answer to your question, rather than the title (which I think is inadvertently misleading), it has to be wrong doesn't it, from a Christian point of view, to judge others? I am agnostic myself because although I would like to believe that there is some force greater than humanity in the world, I am at a loss as to what it is. There are so many religions all with their own Gods, I cannot see how it is possible to 'pick one' and decide that that's the one!

All religious people are denying the existence of the 'other Gods'. Would 'God' be such a petty being that he would punish those who made an incorrect choice when there was no evidence either way to sway us?

The idea ot a 'God' waiting to 'judge' us all is just far too simplistic for most people to believe.

True atheists and agnostics don't hate God. They are apathetic. On the other hand, many anti-christians posing to be atheists or agnostics do have extreme hate for God.

Remember, opposite of love is apathy. Hate is love gone wrong.

Only God knows what's in their hearts, and only he is entitled to judge. I think that it only turns atheists away when we Christians practice an overly in-your-face approach.

Hate is something that theists are best at. It is not good to impart theistic notions of hate on atheists.

Do you hate the tooth fairy?

Once you come to realise that we both disbelieve in hundreds (or thousands!) of gods, you'll understand we're more alike than not. I just disbelieve in one more than you.

vital point. It's just that a lot of times atheist or agnostics say that they don't believe in God and that He doesn't exist. You know for yourself that if I'm not with you, then I'm against you. As for me...I don't believe in arguing with a person for saying something about themselves because who would know them better than themselves? Now let's keep it real.

You have to believe in 'god' in order to hate 'god'. Since I don't believe any deity exists, I don't hate.

No why would we hate something that doesn't exist? Do you hate Santa?
