My fiancee wants to tell his parents on christmas that we're engaged. We've been together for 10 months now. A few years ago we dated for about 7 months. We plan on getting married Dec 05, 2008. We're both 23 and we're moving in together. His parents love me. My question is what is a good way to tell his parents that we're getting married? Should we make a "marriage" paper and wrap it up as a gift? Should we just come out and tell them? Should we make an engagement cake and take it to their house? How did you tell your future in~laws that you were engaged? I want them to know cuz their oldest son told them after he got married.

Not that I am skinny by any means because I tend to I grab carbs--pasta, cereal, or bread. But I just don't care to cook any more and have heard this is typical for folks "of a certain age." What do you think?

Will you start a movement similar to the Civil Rights Movement? Will you march up and down the streets proclaiming you want equality? Will you stage sit-ins at Christian owned resteraunts? Would you make up 'spirituals' to sing? 'We shal not beliieeevvvee.' Do you think us Christians would turn fire hoses on you, or sick attack dogs on you? Will there arise among you leaders to preach equality? Would James Randi be the equivelant of Martin Luther King Jr. in the Atheist Movement? Just something I am wondering about. I'm Christian, and I've owned the books for years. I plan on seeing the movie, and if I like it (and I expect to), I will eventually own that as well. I have no children, but if I did, I would be confident enough in my parenting to be able to answer questions (Can I say that, having none? Oh well, I did.). Do you think you won't be able to filter what you don't agree with? Do you just "not want to line atheists' pockets," as I saw on an MSNBC board? Or is it something else?

I don't intend to sound aggravated, but I kinda am. At uninformed Christians who refuse to inform themselves.

My mom doesn't have a job but she gets some type of check frm the gov. & we get food stamps my father is a functioning crackhead meaning he has a good job but he spends major money on crack & he jus moved out because my mom is cheatn on him & i saw the fat bastard who she with. But my problem is my appearance there is no income in the household & its hard 4 me 2 go 2 school with the same clothes frm last year. Wen I had a summer job I bought a few school outfits & my parents were supposed 2 get me & my little sister sum more but it nevr happened (school startd 3 months ago). I am about to be 16 in a week exact and I am really prayn tht I get a job so I can do 4 myself n my little sis bcuz no one else is. I just look a mess n it is really affectn me I am so over this though

My ex (twice) came back from Arizona the other day after having been gone for over a year. Mind you when he left, he said goodbye to no one...he just "had to find himself". I guess he has now and told me he came back here just for me and wants me to tell him to stay here (indiana). We tried to date twice but I ended up getting bored....Everything's kind of crazy right now...but who know what'll happen in a few months! What if he decides to find himself again? I'm lost...what do you suggest?

I thought priest referred to someone who was roman catholic the way rabbi refers to jewish but my friend belongs to some slovak religion thats NOT catholic and they call the head of his church a priest. Shouldn't he be called a minister or reverend since it is not a catholic church?

HELLO This is new for me! I and my husband been married for seven years now. I say around the second or third year of marriage it started to take a turn. Don't get me wrong he great with the kids, he a great provider, however the communication and relationship that we have are not the same. We barely talk and when we do it is when we are apart. Sex is minimum. I have grown tired of that. I am not an unattractive female I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem finding a man but that is not the point. I'm trying to save my marriage we have went to dozens of counseling. None has worked we even separated for a couple of months and got back together to try at again however we ended up back in the same boat. I am tired of being in the same household with my husband and feel that he is not there I am tired of going through of not having sex for six mo. almost two yrs once. He stated he would rather leave because he feel he doesn't need to change. Im tired of doing all the sacrificing.
