quite possibly because while three crab fisherman tried desperatly to save thier lives from the terrible storm, the hook attached to the reel flew off into the sea. unfortunatly it go stuck in another fish, which later was discovered by some poor man 100 miles downstream two days later. he was so shocked he suffered a heart attack, and the same person that found him also found the hook. thinking that the man's death could have had something to do with it or the fish it was imbedded in, the hook was taken to the local police where it was promply thrown in the garbage after it was discovered that the old man had nothing to do with it. unfortunatly, the garbage bag did not hold and ripped when the garbage man tried to empty it into the dumpster. it caught on your car door and is now lodged in it.
Or you stuck it in there to make for an amusing anectdote for an upcoming Christmas party.
that was the most creative ive been in six hours.

The rod is probably unhooked. You will have to remove door panel to get to it. They are pretty tough to get to, might want to let a mechanic handle it.
