My mom doesn't have a job but she gets some type of check frm the gov. & we get food stamps my father is a functioning crackhead meaning he has a good job but he spends major money on crack & he jus moved out because my mom is cheatn on him & i saw the fat bastard who she with. But my problem is my appearance there is no income in the household & its hard 4 me 2 go 2 school with the same clothes frm last year. Wen I had a summer job I bought a few school outfits & my parents were supposed 2 get me & my little sister sum more but it nevr happened (school startd 3 months ago). I am about to be 16 in a week exact and I am really prayn tht I get a job so I can do 4 myself n my little sis bcuz no one else is. I just look a mess n it is really affectn me I am so over this though

I feel for you, because I grew up dirt poor...and there were no outlets like the internet.

Go onto craigslist, offer to do gigs, get paid, and save the money to do what you need...

Talk to your school counselor and see if he can access the system to help you.

See if there is a good clothing resale shop in your area... you can probably find some classic wardrobe basics and rock those.

I agree, a part-time job after school would be ideal... the accomplishment of a paycheck would be good for your self-esteem.

With your dad out of the house (hooray), your mom can file for divorce and get child support coming in. A DIY divorce may cost a couple hundred dollars. Get your mom to go to the bookstore and get the latest DIY divorce guide for your state, which will spell things out simply.

The company your dad works for can garnish his wages and send the money through the court system before he gets his paychecks.

This time of year there are alot of places that help people in need. Also check out a thing called Freecycle on yahoo. there maybe one for your area. Everything on there is free as for a job try your best and if you have to explain why you need this job. That helps. As far as clothes are concerned check out the opportunity shops for clothes because they have good quality clothes.If things are that bad then talk to a counsellor at school about your home situation.
