How did your spouse feel when you told them you wanted to be a police officer. Did they support you 100%? Or were they worried for your being, because law enforcement is a dangerous job. And if you have kids, do they want to follow your footsteps. Thanks in advance.

...........supposedly promotes atheism eg. Golden Compass.

Why the the double standard ?

Is it fair that a certain group feels that only they and they alone have the right to promote their beliefs.......

.........and if an attempt is made to air an opposing belief it should be banned.

What direction are we heading in with such thinking and reaction ?

Frightening really.

For the record I quite enjoyed Narnia and am also looking forward to seeing Golden Compass.

My baby boy is 9 weeks and for the most part he wakes up 2 times for feedings, but there are some nights where he wakes up 3 or 4 times (some for feedings others just because). I am back at work, and it is very draining. Any suggestions to help him sleep through out the night, or at least 5 or 6 consecutive hours.

she's five weeks old and bottle-feeding. usually she does well, but sometimes she struggles and cries durring feeding. I've checked to make sure it isn't too hot, she has clean diapers, and it's only after about twenty minutes of struggling and crying she finally calms down and eats. She can breathe through her nose, and I am getting a little uneasy about it. anyone else out there have the same problem?

Do you shop for your spouse's gifts, wrap them, etc for them, or do they do that for themselves? I did, but I started feeling like his mother after awhile. I mean, he should do this for himself, right?
He knows all of these people better than I do, too. It's hard to shop for people you don't know well.
What's the norm? Do most wives shop for their husbands' holiday gifts?

And why should I pay for the sins I never committed?

Didn't God's flood cleanse evil from the world? Was Jesus' birth and sacrifice another waste of time, since sin prevails still?

Do you really mean that by merely being born we all are sinners? Some fine "blessing" life is then.....

I work at Starbucks, and I love it. So maybe this is just the one I work at but, we always have fresh coffee, we are always nice to every customer that comes in.
Also, we carefully make our drinks to make sure they are perfect, and still if the customer doesn't like it, we will make them something else or give them their money back.

Now, I have been to a horrible Starbucks, but I am going to use the whole "they opened 2 weeks ago" excuse on them. And, truthfully they did open 2 weeks before I stopped in, so I am hoping they changed.

Anyway, I know there is a ton of you Starbucks haters out there, so I just want to know why do you hate Starbucks so much?

my baby is due in less that 4 weeks and i want to know do we really need a snowsuit? I have read that it is not good for babies to overheat and sweat. we have a cover to go over the carrier that has a little "window" to pull back so that we can see his face. chances are he really won't be outside much and i'm just wondering if a snowsuit is really necessary. how many of you have snowsuits for your children and if you don't then what do you suggest we put over him or under him to keep him warm? thanks

I'd like to cook something nice for dinner, but I only have an electric skillet, a microwave, and a toaster oven.

What I can cook in my electric skillet that's easy, and tasty? If it's especially tasty, I might forgo the "easy" requirement to make it.

Thanks!

A lot of young children seem to stop believe in Santa Clause at such a young age every holiday season. What do you think causes a child to stop in believing in Santa Clause? Do you think it's because a child asks for something special one year and they don't get what they ask for?

Could it be that people in general don't have as much Christmas spirit, as in the past?

(A) A company’s board of directors is considering the introduction of new product which was developed by the company. The research and development costs are estimated to be ₤100,000 on a market research study to assess the potential market for the product. Based on this study it is estimated that the company will be able to sell 12,000 units at a price of ₤24 next year, with the unit sales expanding by an additional 10% a year in subsequent years. The product is expected to be withdrawn from the market after 5 years. The direct costs of production are estimated to be ₤13 a unit. The overheads attributable to the production will amount to ₤15,000 pr annum. Manufacture of the product requires an initial investment in machinery amount to ₤560,000, which will be depreciated on a straight line basis over its useful life of 7 years. It is anticipated that the machinery will have resale value of ₤126,000 at the end of the products working life. The project would also require the use of an existing storage facility that would have been rented out for ₤8,000 per annum if it were not used for the project. The company plans to invest in working capital. It is estimated that debtors and creditors will offset each other, but an investment in stock worth ₤42,000 is required in the beginning of the project and this requirement is expected to grow by 12% in the preceding year. Working capital requirement will no increase further for the rest of the projects life. The company requires a 10% after tax rate of return on such investments and the corporate tax rate is 32%.

(i) Determine the net present value of the proposed investment
(ii) Consider the sensitivity of the NPV to a 10% increase in the price of the product.

Florida public schools, that is. The state board of education is considering upping the standards for science education, focusing more strictly on evolution in biology classrooms.

The school board has mixed feelings, but the majority of the general population is opposed (obviously), advocating the teaching of intelligent design (which the article says will probably never happen).

its also like in my throat when i breath (esophagus) and it feels like someones give grabbed all my insides and squeezed them really tight.

i cant swallow, breath, yawn etc without the pain.

i'm not sure what it could be from.. its summer - so its not a cold/virus...

i did choke on some water i think 2 days ago, (reaction was spitting it straight back out) and i kinda had a bit of trouble breathing for a bit, and i might of strained my lungs or something trying to be my breath back.. i dont know.

but i'm kinda freaked.
please help.

is it possible that it might be caused by second hand smoke from my parents (who smoke)

Ok first god created man. right. well I would like to know who created god? I mean if he created man then who created him?
Second is he really real or a fake? An if he is real then how come we don't see him in person only in pictures and people say that they could feel him yet feel isn't the same thing as seeing someone.right. So these are my questions. I would appreciate it if you answer my questions. An all who do answer thank you.
