recently i have been having this pain in my chest, its hard to pinpoint.

its also like in my throat when i breath (esophagus) and it feels like someones give grabbed all my insides and squeezed them really tight.

i cant swallow, breath, yawn etc without the pain.

i'm not sure what it could be from.. its summer - so its not a cold/virus...

i did choke on some water i think 2 days ago, (reaction was spitting it straight back out) and i kinda had a bit of trouble breathing for a bit, and i might of strained my lungs or something trying to be my breath back.. i dont know.

but i'm kinda freaked.
please help.

is it possible that it might be caused by second hand smoke from my parents (who smoke)
???

Hey hey.. Chill out, okay?
I used to be just like you when I was 10. You have ANXIETY. I'm 14 now and I still get like that. Your going to be just fine. I'm going to tell you a little story. This probably won't help you if you have anxiety bcause no matter what you will think you have something wrong with you, but just listen.
So, when I was 9,10,11, 12, and 13, I was always freaked out I had lukemia, lung cancer, or heart problems. lol. (see it makes me laugh now) Well, It just so happens i started to get dizzy and have a really sharp chest pain every now and then. At first i was worried, then i started thinking about it even more, and then I got myself convinced i had a deathly illness. Soon I started coming home from school from being dizzy, and I would have chest pain and every breath I took hurt because I would hyperventilate and my throat would close(im guessing thats why you have the pain when you breathe). I went to the doctor and she checked me out and told me I was just hyperventilating. She also made me go to a counselor. Well that did not help me at all i still came home from being dizzy w/ chest pain. I went back and she sent me to the cardiologist to have an EKG, and blood drawn. everything came back fine. I was still scared and feeling sick but everything proved i was fine! It took me 6 months to feel compleetely better and releaxed so i know its hard but really, you will be fine! Just go to the doctor, and dont be scared. You are most likely fine! If you end up having anything im really sorry lol, but ull be fine anyways. It's just the fact you are 16 with these syptoms just does not make sense! us teens cans have heart attacks like old peeps! :) No, my daddy smokes and i have light asthma but most bad stuff like lung cancer will apper later in our lives like when wer 40 tehe so dont worry now!! :) I REALLY hope you feel better because i know how scary it can be! good luck ! much love,

You need to be checked out by a doctor. I'm not sure about the smoking aspect of it however, i used to have chest pain myself.
Tell the doctor, and they will first take an xray of your chest and they will also take a blood sample.

For me the case wasn't anything physical, but it was anxiety. If you don't have anxiety it could very well be the second hand smoke. I suggest getting it checked out, it never hurts

Could be heart problems or even pleuresy. You need to call your doctor. Doubt that second hand smoke caused this.

Sounds very similar to the symptoms my daughter had with pleurisy. Yes, see a doctor. Pleurisy is no fun.
