Childrens ER says bloodwork and urine look fine. However bg readings are high, tummy problems, drinks a lot, pee's a lot, etc... we have appt with the endocronolgist in January. I want to educate myself as much as possible.
Any experience with such

His readings go anywhere from normal to like last night 220.
He is one of those stick figure looking kids (4' 6" & 75 lbs) and loves fruit & veggies. He doesn't do a lot of sweets.
Fruit really runs it up

what does the pediatrician say??? write down all of your questions and have them answered.

Maybe there isn't anything wrong - if he drinks a lot of fruit drinks along with eating a lot of fruit, you would expect him to have tummy problems, and pee a lot. Certain fruits and grains ferment inside the gut and produce uncomfortable feelings (but this is not unhealthy - just uncomfortable). The fruit consumption wouldn't explain the high blood glucose if the reading followed a fasting blood test. If the high glucose reading occurred within a few hours of eating, then its actually a normal reading.
