We had a terrible experience with a realtor so now we want to try and sell our home by ourselves. How do I get an MLS number in Missouri?

Does it matter if there is a 4.7% unemployment rate?

That's a lower number than under Reagan, Kennedy, Carter, Clinton's first term, etc.

Or does that statistic not mean much these days?

...to listen to the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from the chapel of King's College, Cambridge, on the radio? I know there may be time difference/availability issues here....but I wondered if anyone else will be listening to it....I am sure I will! King's College is not more than a mile from my house....but it is such a popular service...and we have never fancied standing in the queue for hours to get a seat! So, I will be listening on the radio.

A good friend of mine got tired of working and decided to see how long he could live on credit cards. He was making about $30K a year working as a cook at a restaurant, and applied for dozens of credit cards. He was accepted for most of them and they were more than happy to give him lots of credit.

He also got lots of credit card convenience checks in the mail and before long he had over $100K in his bank account. He uses the money in one account to pay off the minimum payment in other. He has complex Excel spreadsheets to keep track of his various credit cards. His goal is to get access to $200K.

He lives on about $25K a year, so he can live off his credit cards for a very long time. Once he runs out of credit though it will be a big problem. He says that is years in the future and will worry about that then. He is either a genius or an idiot, your choice?

I have come to believe that as a saved Christian, we need to go to church to learn the word of God, study, and develop a relationship, witness, etc. But I'm finding that increasingly difficult as there seems to be so many hypocrites in church. It seems like such a distraction when there seems to be so many lost souls there who claim to be saved. How and when will I know when I'm at a decent church? I'd love to find one where the people were friendly, but not nosey. The last church I visited, one man came up and asked if I was married and where my husband was. I felt like saying, "It's none of your business." I'm just trying to find a church where I can learn and not be sucked into the gossiping, backstabbing circle of nasties. If anyone who might answer this is a church member, how do you deal with those types and what makes you feel that is the right church for you?

Me and this guy met at an out of state school (both were in bad relationships back home). Neither one of us was trying to meet anyone~ but ended up finding each other and hit it off in an extraordinary way right off the bat. A couple of months later he called me to tell me he's sorry but he got "caught up" unexpectedly with me and still needs to finish his divorce with his wife (since she was already suspecting something and making his life and the divorce hell). What do you think this meant?

The Jehovah's witnesses are nothing more than a cult. These people have lied consistently about their history, covered-up child molestations, elder abuse,a nd the high suicide rate in favor of lies. There is no such thing as a paradise. Why do people think we are in space? We cannot survive long-term on this planet. It is just one of the many lies of this dangerous cult. I advise anyone to see such sites as E-watchman, Watchtower Information Service, Silentlambs.org, and Youtube. If you go to youtube, please put in the seacrh engine "The Watchtower is a cult" or " Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult". Please leave me any answers/feedback you have regarding this lying cult. Also, please see the Ekstra Bladet. They have written numerous articles about the lies of the Watchtower, and have even sent reporters to their world headquarters numerous times. These people are dangerous.

I'm writing some fiction about a situation involving police, and I'm curious how this would work:

If police made an arrest, what would/should their response be if some bystander from the crowd steps forward and starts mouthing off to them about the arrest? Specifically, if the police officer is going by the book and being a professional about the situation, how should they respond to a protester in the crowd who has stepped forward to get in their face?

Thanks.

Found a 12 yr old 3,200 sqft house we want to buy that needs some work. It has been moved 200 yards to make way for a new development. Its structurally sound but needs new kitchen countertops (granite), molding replaced, addit. insulation added (they skimped on this) and needs all the wood single pain windows replaced, some won’t open and some have gaps

The seller bought the house as an investment. He got the house for about $79k, land for $49k, and about $60k to move it and add new carpet, paint and some upgrades (New HVAC and Hot Water Heater). He has approx $190,000 in the house. He added “Desperate Seller, Make offer” to the posting. The agent said he is over extended and needs to move it or probably lose it soon.
He has lowered the price from $420K to $399K, to $345K. It has been on the market since Jan. with little interest. With the needed improvements ($30-$50K) Is $250k a good offer for a “Desperate Seller”? He would still make $50k+ is this a fair offer or way too low?

Christmas can be so expensive... there are so many presents to buy and in the end, most items are cheaper after December 25th. This year, to save money, I shopped early and hit all the sales before the rush. My husband and I talked about doing something different next year: celebrating Christmas after the 25th...perhaps on December 30-31st. Boxing day sales might enable us to buy wicked presents at a lower price. Has anyone done that before?
