First off you need to define Surrender to the Lord. Everything exist in his will, or within the system of existence you find yourself in. There are certain laws both spiritual and physical that we may not transcend. However these laws are way beyond what most realize.
One definition of surrender may be understood this way: Nothing that is, was or can be exist outside of him. He is the fount of all being, the tree of life, the one the only. He is in and of all things. He encompasses all things. Yet nothing contains him. We cannot comprehend who and what he is. This teaching is found in all Holy text including but not limited to the Torah, the Jewish Oral tradition, the Bible, the Quran and the Bhagavad Gita.
The system we live in is a system of love and guidance from a loving God. He leads us to the state of consciousness where we can reveal the ultimate good. This state of consciousness is the realized indwelling Christ or the realized divine love of God. It has been called by many names in different cultures. My Muslim brothers and sisters call it being God consciousness and attained to faith. My Hindu brothers and sisters call it Krishna consciousness. My Buddhist friends call it simply Buddha. My Jewish brothers and sisters refer to the indwelling perfect alignment of the 10 sefirot. This teaching is what was taught during the time Jesus went to the temple and he amazed the 12 priest with his knowledge of these things. The rebirth that Christ refers to when talking to Nicodemus in John refers to this condition of spirit that is defined with in the teaching of the 10 sefirot.
So how do we surrender to this? This spirit of Christ that lights every man that comes into the world? First off understand it is the deepest nature of our being. It is already there but our ego veils us from the truth.
What is ego? It is that part of us that thinks we know what is good, not so good and evil. This "knowledge" is the reason man lost his way and fell from grace and lost the kingdom. It is the original sin. Eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
How can this be you ask? "Certainly there is evil...." Hmmm.... First off, we have dominion over all the earth. This was given in the beginning and never taken away. The mechanics of this dominion works this way. The light of God / Christ that is with in each of us is connected perfectly to the outward creation in harmony. However it is reflected back to us in the form of reality in such a way as to lead us to the state of Christ / God consciousness so we may ultimately reveal all that is good. Our ego is the filter that determines how the outward reality is reflected back to us. Thus thoughts that look at uncomfortable things in life as guidance so that we may grow are the thoughts of the righteous. The consciousness that looks at things or events that make us uncomfortable as evil creates evil in the outward reality. Evil does not exist in God. Evil only comes to us via our own volition which opens the door. The teaching of “do not judge” has its basis in this. By embracing evil in our consciousness we are its enabler.
Christ taught the remission of sins through faith. Not only your sins but all sin so that you, through faith may enter into the state of conscious of Adam before the fall. The very state of righteousness where you do not know or judge sin. Before eating of the forbidden fruit.
His blood cleanses you if his life / blood / spirit flows freely through you and you become realized. A joint heir of / with Christ.
Every time you judge your brother you take another bite of that forbidden fruit and continue the original sin. Every time you say that someone of a different religion is not saved you transgress the teaching of Jesus. These maters are only for God. We do not have the eyes to see into the soul of any man. We are strictly forbidden to judge any man and yet most do.
Surrender then to the Lord is simple. "Love your God with all your heart and all your soul" and saying the same thing a different way, "love your neighbor as you love yourself". When you live this, you live Christ.
Surrender? Look for the love in everything and everybody that surrounds you. When this love begins to become apparent then surrender comes naturally. Then you love as God loves, unconditionally. And you are enveloped in the divine light of the love of God. God is no respecter of men. Neither should we be. All men are Gods children. All are made in his image.
Any man may deem his love of God may be measured by the least amount of love he has in his heart for any man.
Believe it!

We do surrendering to surgeon and pilot, with a "proven record". What if pilot and surgon are new and have no experience at all?
Before surrendering to God, a material person would like to have a proof of God. What if God is not there or not capable?
But for a spiritual person, surrender is easy rather it happens automatically.
From material angle, spiritualism is irrational teaching to a rational mind. From spiritual perspective, spiritualism is rational teaching to an irrational mind!

It is not difficult to surrender to lord as you surrender to a doctor or a pilot you surrender to them because you have a feeling that this person know what he is doing and he can take care of your life. The same way if you surrender yourself to the lord he will take care of you in every sense and he will help you out in all possible ways

Unless all the imprints [karmas in the energy] are cleared we will not surrender.Even one imprint, it might be a good one too, even then that imprint will create the ego & will not let one to surrender.
So to be pure means without any imprints which is very difficult.
The surrender to a surgeon & the pilot is only a temporary one, when the person things he has no other way than to surrender him.

Difficult? It's impossible unless through a proxy. When a person surrenders, there has to be someone to accept that and take charge.Where is the Lord you are talking about unless he is one of those lords like,a land lord.Through proxy,a self nominated person may accept your surrender on behalf of Lord but there is no surety of it being authentic,By the way,we don't have to surrender to anybody for any purpose including salvation.

Proverbs 22:15
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
That's the same reason why we find it hard to do the right things. We do wrong things though we wnt to do the right ones. This applies for surrendering too. we are proud and selfish in nature, this needs to break for us to surrender.
The answer to this is Love the Lord with All your heart, soul and mind..

Because 'spiritual discernment' - the ability of the authentic Self to observe the conditioned ego thought patterns - is difficult for most people in the beginning. The surgeon you trust is a physical person and your ego programming may be that physicians are to be trusted. OR you may have direct KNOWLEDGE of the surgeons prowess and ethics.
But, "the lord" is your authentic (Christ) Self. It is within, not outside where most people project their attributes onto a personified deity. This is a common psychological problem.

First we ought to locate a Guru, in the different case we are able to be perplexed as we continuously are. Having stumbled on the Guru, we ought to attach our concepts together with his concepts. that's genuine renounce. In Gita, Krishn tells Arjun to surreder to Him. How did He ask Arjun to surreder to Him, and improve into there no choose for a Guru then? of direction there is, and could continuously be the ought to provide as much as the Guru. Then how come this rule improve into no longer accompanied in Arjun's case? Arjun had applicable interior the initiating, very cleverly pronounced to Krishn, that he's His scholar (scholar), implying that he positioned Krishn interior the Guru's function. And he improve into for this reason surredering to Him ie the Guru in Krishn (shishyasteham sadhimam twam prapannam). Arjun improve into that far extra privileged. that's the reason that's pronounced that Gita upadesh are in basic terms for Arjun. we will not income something via analyzing Gita ourselves. we are able to in basic terms finally end up appreciating the e book ie Gita. today each and every physique is claiming to be an expert in Gita. So surrendering to God, in consequence ability, surrendering to the Guru.

Surrender is never done to the Lord (to me Krishn). True, Lord Krishn has told Arjun to surrender to Him in Gita, but that was in the capacity of Guru.
We need to surrender to the Guru (the spiritual master).
Simple basics!

It is not difficult to surrender to the Lord. God says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Once we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, what the Holy Spirit starts in us, He is more than able to finish. The Holy Spirit starts purifying and refining us.
The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins and starts washing them away. We end up hating sin because it is against God.
The only thing we need to do and that is = keep our eyes on Jesus.

Because they must have faith to believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. A surgeon or a pilot is tangible and can be seen. Also, Satan is the enemy of the faith and will do all he can to keep people away from the knowledge of the truth. It is not easy to be a Christian. People find it easier to do their own thing...in the flesh.
