Ever get put on the spot like that? What goes through your mind? Have you ever refused? Or does your family know you well enough not to even ask?

Atheists, what do you do when your extended family's patriarch/matriarch asks someone to pray? Would you show respect and bow your head, or would you find it hypocritical, and just start to eat while the rest of your family is praying?

Thanks for your thoughts

My boss is 16years older than I! he's a big flirt... and very nice and sweet, but at the same time different than I. At the present moment it's just me and him in the office! He has a girlfriend! but sometimes I feel attracted to him! I fight back the emotions and keep it professional but Im a little scared that if I keep working here that I might fall for him! and I know that the relationship would not go anywhere. I want to know can I overcome this or should I just get out! Im good at my profession and i know it wouldn't be hard to find another job, but I like working with him I just don't know if it's the job that's keeping me around or if its him....

I am just curious? There are SO many questions on here about breeding - or my puppy is having a litter "WHAT DO I DO?" Etc.
I wonder, how many of these (so called) breeders actually think this out AHEAD of time?
What are the reasons they are having puppies? Is it because they are so cute, they want to let their children experience the miracle of birth, they think their female should be a mother and that she would love to have puppies, they want to better the breed, or - are they just doing it for the big bucks???
For you who are considering having puppies, you need to think long and hard about it. If you are doing it right, and have the Dam's best interest in mind (as well as the puppies) then you must realize that you aren't going to make the BIG BUCKS! You will, at the very best - break even, and that's not even likely. Can everyone share their stories of what's involved; the care, expense, time, placement, etc. of having puppies. It may make "some" people think twice.

I have worked on the Mac for 17 years but recently, in order not to look like a person hanging on to the past, had the IT people get me a Dell running XP.

While it's ok, it's not easy at all. It feels old compared to OSX. OSX is fast, quick and easy.....Productive.

The XP is very limited, very cumbersome.

When I plug into the mac.....it's fun......PC......not so fun.

XP seems pretty stable, OS is very stable. When I travel, the XP has a hard time connecting to the wireless conncetion in the hotel room, the mac.....no problem.

I don't have to check a bunch of boxes and change a bunch of settings. Again, sometimes it works, most of the time no.

Drag and drop: Mac, easy. XP, sometimes easy, sometimes not so easy, sometimes easy but VERY slow. Sometimes not easy and VERY slow.

Icons, Folders, etc: mac, make them any size you want, XP, five choices unless you change the entire screen size.

When will corporate American embrace the Mac? It's just more productive AND fun!!!!!!!!!

Dear cat lovers,
I have two cats. Both female. an 8 year old, and the most recent addition, a 1 year old. The one year old, being rescued from a horsefarm, grew up for about 4 monthst LOVING the outdoors. so a year ago, we rescued her and brought her to my home. She STILL loves the outdoors. Every day, we regularly let her outside into my fenced backyard for around 3 or 4 hours. She used to be very very content just running around my nicely sized back yard; until yesterday, when she figured out how to climb my fences. My fences are 6 feet tall- and my cat is declawed in the front. Yet she uses the fence posts to shimmy up to the top. This is a BIG BIG problem considering there are busy cars where I live, little children, and open streets, ponds, and such. I live in a neighborhood- I can not have my cat running around. I am scared to death that she is going to get picked up and taken home, or hit by a car. PLEASE HELP ME. what can I do to keep her from going over the fence?

A woman friend of mine in her mid '20's married a guy 30 years older than her about 4 months ago. Why? Because I think the fact he is rich, lives in a big fancy house (which he let her help pick out), makes a lot of money in his job, spends a lot of money on her, drives fancy cars, and provides her a lot of security were key reasons. He is a nice guy and her family and friends seem to like him and accept him. A lot of people though, because of the age difference, don't think the marriage has a lot of future. Do you think that if the marriage does start going south that she would stick it out (assuming it doesn't get physical) because of what she'd be losing? I would think in a marriage where the people are about the same age and things go bad that the likelihood she would leave would be greater than in this situation I described. Any thoughts? I don't want to see her get hurt if things don't work out.
