You should try to set aside some "me time" so you can get away from all the activity. Engage in your personal hobbies and try to relax with fun things. If things get too overwhelming try to walk away for a few minutes if you can. If it is too overwhelming you might want to consider reducing the time you watch them. Good luck.

Kids Need Limits and More Family Fun

Researchers report that when parents are very angry they punish more severely and are more likely to be verbally and/or physically abusive to their children. There are times when we need to take a slow, deep breath and count to ten rather than lashing out in a hostile way. Discipline is basically about teaching children how to behave, and you can't teach effectively if you are extremely emotional. So rather than attacking your child with an angry putdown, such as "What's the matter with you?" it's better to take a minute to calm yourself and then ask with composure, "What happened here?"

All children need their parents to establish guidelines for acceptable behavior. The more skillful we become at setting limits, the greater the cooperation we will receive from our children and the less need there will be to enforce the limits by applying unpleasant consequences. The result is a more pleasant home atmosphere for both parent and child.

WOW --- I'm impressed. My grandson is 1 and is back living with us with his mom (dad in the service) --- I have a 2 year old granddaughter who lives with her mom about a block away. I try to avoid having to watch them both at the same time. My kids were 9 years apart - 2 little ones is A LOT OF WORK!!!!!! It's so hard for parents to pay for day care anymore. I'm impressed that you do that. I would suggesting drinking - ha ha. They can wear you out!! I went to bed fairly early knowing I'd probably be getting up about 7 this a.m. with him but he decided 5:30 a.m. was better. I just agreed to disagree and got up - ha ha. He won. Short of medication, I don't know what to tell you....it's definitely a major job - no matter how much you love them!! I'm giving you a star for this question because you deseve that AT THE VERY LEAST!!! :)

If you find yourself unable to remain calm while caring for them, you've probably taken on more than you can handle. I'd try to get some help, or if the parents are in the picture tell them that you need a bit more of a break.

take one day a week off just for you go to a spa and pamper yourself ,even a gallery or park will do -just be sure its not one that's full of kids another suggestion might be that the 1st hour that the parents return home -you are not to be disturbed take a bubble bath, read a little and unwind you'll all be better off for it!

here are some tips:
1. if you feel like yelling - YELL (not at them but the room in general) it can release some of your tension.
2. arrange play dates with your neighbors (who have other kids)
3. napping is always good.
4. ask a neighbor to help you babysit
5. make a schedule for feeding, bathtime, playtime, naptime
6. if they fight, let them have it. hahaha (just kidding)

good luck.

Id say sneak off behind the barn and smoke a few doobies. I dont know why you live with them, (as in you didnt say) but you need your own space and time for yourself. Dont sacrifice yourself and your happiness .
