I believe that I may be suffering from a sort of speech impediment. I have been afflicted since the age of seven (which is the earliest age at which I seem to recall its presence). I am now a sixteen year old male. This is very difficult and somewhat embarrassing for me to write about, as I have never shared it with anyone before.
Oftentimes, I will find myself unable to say certain words or phrases. It feels as though my vocal chords lock and cannot function. This is only at certain times, and most often with words beginning with vowels. I have learned to not use some words at all because I simply cannot say them without embarrassingly prolonging my syllables. I can usually save the situation with replacing the word with an awkward synonym. This will often last for entire conversations, me having to pause for often as long as fifteen seconds trying to build the energy to coordinate myself. It is almost indescribable. This is almost always silent, however, and I have never stuttered.
This is absolutely devastating for me. I am actually a social person, and enjoy being around people. This even happens around my closest family members whom I am entirely comfortable with. I have a very large vocabulary but find most of it unusable. I love studying languages but can barely speak them simply because of the aforementioned symptom. I feel that I have lost many opportunities due to the resulting inarticularity. I do not naturally have social anxiety, but what I do have only results from this apparant impediment. This must be something neurological or physical.
I have been many in situations where people ask me a question as simple as what my name is, and I come across as mentally retarted because I often cannot even produce the sound of my name.
I highly doubt it, but if anyone has any experience with this I would be very grateful to hear your thoughts.

When the group of _____ boarded the ship for a cruise to ______, they were unaware of what lay in store for them.
First of all, the captain announced: "_______________."
And then the _______ told everyone that the _______ was broken.
And as though THAT wasn't bad enough, they found out that a ______ had been spotted!!
Needless to say, the next time they book a cruise it will NOT be through the company, "______________." The name alone should have been a warning of things to come!!

My friend and I had a party at my friends house over the weekend and I guess you could say it got out of control! The house was a mess and a few things were broken and there were stains on the carpet and stuff. We thought we were clear because her parents didn’t notice anything when they got home, but last night my friend called me and was like my parents know! And now my parents are probably going to find out and then I’m going to be grounded for even longer than I am now! What should I do? Should I tell my parents before they hear it from someone else? I wish I could think of a good excuse to tell them! hah

It certainly does appear that all of the money that the Fed prints and puts into circulation does increase supply and makes each dollar in circulation worth less. Then we have to pay these crooks back the money plus interest, when it isn't their money to begin with. I think the good days are over for America. It can only get worse from here.

Ok, here goes ... my husband and I got married January 27, 2007, and as of today, more than half of the thank you notes have yet to be sent! I know, I know. We're being real jerks about it, and I feel sick just thinking about it. The thing is, we have moved twice, and were financially strapped for a long time. Now that we're back on our feet, how do I explain for the delay in sending the thank you note? Should I just send lengthy apology letters instead?

Brian Viloria made a statement that he wants to challenge IBF/IBO Flyweight champion Nonito Donaire in the near future. Nonito reacted by saying that Viloria is not at his level. Donaire is coming off a 5th round KO of previously unbeaten Vic Darchinyan. Brian has lost his last two fights and one was a draw. All of Brian's last fights were for the WBC Light Flyweight Championship. Nonito is scheduled to defend his championship in December in Connecticut.
