Brian Viloria made a statement that he wants to challenge IBF/IBO Flyweight champion Nonito Donaire in the near future. Nonito reacted by saying that Viloria is not at his level. Donaire is coming off a 5th round KO of previously unbeaten Vic Darchinyan. Brian has lost his last two fights and one was a draw. All of Brian's last fights were for the WBC Light Flyweight Championship. Nonito is scheduled to defend his championship in December in Connecticut. I say it should since we could see a battle of Filipinos for a world title.

Viloria has had bad blood for the Donaire brothers ever since they started out as amateurs in the US and vice-versa. I really feel that Brian has wasted his opportunities and in my eyes he has the tools but not the desire. Nonito on the other hand has a very good chance to become the next Manny Pacquiao in terms of following and at least he has the work ethic to back up his accomplishments.

This fight would be good for both men as this will answer a lot of questions about Brian's boxing career, whether the loss Nonito suffered at the US trials to Brian was a fluke, and every possible angle you can think of especially if you are familiar with the history between these 2.

Donaire's right, Viloria is not at his level. Brian Viloria's just a flash in the pan. He's got some decent power and quickness but that's about it. He fights too cute, refuses to mix it up and awfully lacks courage and a killer instinct. Besides, I think he's not built to be a boxer. He lacks height and his reach is way too short. For him to be a great fighter, he should fight like Rocky Marciano, who also lacked the size and measurements of a heavyweight. He should keep coming in, bobbing and weaving through his opponents punches, then unleashing his so-called "Hawaiian Punch" inside. Unless, he stops worrying 'bout getting hurt and getting his face rearranged, he'll go nowhere.
