There are many reasons. Some people think it's cool, others like the art and want it on their bodies, some people want something to remember a special event or person in their life and some just want to be a rebel.
I personally don't want a tattoo since it is permanent and once you get old, it looks awful and saggy. Plus, I believe that it's stupid to have tattoos on your only body that God has given you. It isn't wrong or anything...But people who COMPLETELY cover themselves is kinda weird. But again, it's their decision.

I like tattoos I have 2 tattoos on my body and I want to get a lot more and it is my body thats way IF you don;t like it sorry

Making my body into art itself is the most beautiful and poetic thing I can think of. Also, I'm the type that's always changing and it's hard to always remember who I really am. Tattoos are something permanent in my life of chaos, and they remind me of the person I am, want, and need to be.

It's self expression. The difference between tattooed people and non tattooed people - tattooed people don't judge non tattooed people for not having tats.

I don't know why anyone would nee to get a tattoo. Does anyone know why someone would nee to get a tattoo? (chuckle) :)

Why do you feel the need to question other peoples decisions? Let them do what they want, people getting tattooed is not hurting you in any way.

i think that people get tattoos because they represent something about them or symbolize something to them. personally i love tattoos, i have 2 of them and both of mine are symbolic to me.

I like mine. I have a lot of coverage. And I get a new one ever so often. I'm a tattooist. I don't 'need em', I like em. Sorry it isn't deeper than that.
