Masturbation is completely normal, so you don't need to worry about doing it, anyone who tells you you can get sick or go to hell or something because of it is an idiot. You may have experienced an orgasm, but from your description it seems like you almost did but stopped to soon. You would probably know for sure if you had one, but i could be wrong. Try comparing the feeling of the possible orgasm to other good feelings. an orgasm feels better than anything in the world so if you can think of anything that happened to you that felt better, you probably didn't have an orgasm.

Sounds very close. I'm not particularly happy to see women who have to pleasure themselves, but at your age, I'd much prefer your masturbating (what you're doing) than engaging in unsafe sex practices with other teenagers.
