Pushing for long periods of time...?

I pushed my son for maybe five minutes before he was out. I hear about women pushing for hours and hours. Why is that? I mean, what is wrong medically that the women have to push for so long? The doctors thought I'd have to push for a long time because he was sunny side up [his face was towards my butt] but like I said it really wasn't bad for me.

I'm pregnant again and this is the first place I've ever heard of women pushing for long periods of time. What causes it? Is there anything I can do to prepare myself? I just worry about this next birth. If you had to push for a long time, obviously it was frustrating, how did you cope?

How can I stop being so selfish.. serious answers only.. please?

I'm currently in a relationship. It's a good relationship.. it's also my longest. I use to just date.. and not get into relationships because I'm so picky. I found someone who is wonderful.. but I miss the part about being able to spend time with anyone I want.. in a sexual way or not.. My bf is a jelous guy and this makes it even harder on me. I guess I'm just having a hard time letting go of me just doing things for me..with no questions asked. Will this go away.. how can I get rid of it.. any help would be wonderful.

What is the best way to deal with contractions during labor?

Nursing students -Try and get the job or keep what I have?

Ok here's the deal I am currently a patient sitter at a hospital and it's great. I work PRN, and when I have the option-which is often- I am able to do homework. Which is great when you are in college. But this is not me. Sitting around bores me, and it doesn't offer the experience I need, that I know would help me in nursing school. What I would love to do is be an E.R. tech. Which I know has more potential for being busy work that the nurses do not care to do. But that doesn't bother me. Everyone has to work there way up the chain. I know that. The pros of the job- more experience, getting to know more people, a set schedule, better pay. Cons- not able to do my homework, and a set schedule. If there is anyone here who is currently in the medical field or has ever been through a similar situation your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade - good joke for relationship problem couple?

Dear IT Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down in the overall performance, particularly in the flower, gifts and jewellery applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World Cup 2.0.

And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Probably worth between 50,000 - 100,000. I want to get a loan out using my house. How does this work. My credit is horrible. Will I be able to do this. I only want about $20,000. I owned the house for over 8 years
